Private Central 2BR/2BA House w Patio&Terrace

Location was OK and air conditioning worked well. Large and spacious

The third bedroom was not really a bedroom. More like a siting room with a sleeping couch. The second bathroom was a shower over a toilet and small basin. Smelly and tiny.

Ok, I decided to write this review because before my arrival I have seen lots of mixed reviews with mostly either 2-4 or 8-10 scores, and I was a bit scary and confused. Now I realised that it is mostly because of wrong expectations from apartment in historical building. Let’s break down. 1) Location - excellent. 25 mins taxi from airport, 5 mins walk to the sea, 2 mins walk to shopping street. If you cook for yourself - Carrefour Mini with all essential groceries 3 mins walk as well as lots of small shops, if you prefer eating out - lots of great restaurants on the sea embankment (cross shopping street, keep going to see line and turn left). 2) Building / apt - all yours 3 floor 19th century historic building with grande hall, living room and main sleeping room on the ground floor, kitchen in the basement (use stairs down), other sleeping facilities on the 2nd floor (use stairs up). 3) Kitchen - fully equipped with everything you need for large family. Some reviews mentioned bad smell or insects - I didn’t find anything. It was clean enough. I cooked daily. 4) Noise - also was mentioned in reviews. Noise is not from shopping street but from regular street. Street is very narrow as expected in old town (and any other streets in Izmir) and cars and delivery bikes use the street but the noise is normal, nothing extraordinary. Don’t expect historic place to filly fit your 21st century needs. Get ready to feel how people lived before, adjust your expectations and enjoy the vacation.

Minor downsides: 1) Lighting is limited but sufficient as understandable in all historical buildings 2) There were no douch gel / shampoo when I just arrived so I bought them in Carrefour, not a big deal but would be nice to have 3) I didn’t find washing machine (it was listed in description) maybe I searched badly, but I didn’t ask the host

L'appartement est grande et a du charme d'ancien, assez atypique avec un petit coin de jardin mais nous n'avons pas trop pu le profiter par manque de soleil.

Très bruyant, l'appartement n'est pas insonorisé et se situe sur une rue pentue donc on entend l'accélération de tous les vehicules qui montent. Pas assez de materiel de cuisine.Il y a une grosse courgette de Glace sur le paroi à l'intérueur du frigo. Le congelateur fait pareil, convert de Glace épaisse. Manque de luminosité, les enfants n'étaient pas trop rassurés,pas adapté au personne à mobilité réduite,il y a des escaliers. On avait un problème avec les clefs le soir de notre arrivée.On nous a donné 3 clefs et quand nous sommes sortis à la recherche de la nourriture,nous avons pris 2 clefs parmi les 3 sauf que aucun des 2 n'ouvrait pas la porte d'entrée quand nous sommes de retour , il y a un autre portail qui s'ouvre côté petit jardin mais aucune de ces 2 clefs qui peut l'ouvrir mais bon le proprietaire nous a appellé un serrurier que nous avons payé son service et ça reste toujours mystérieux ces 2 autres clefs qui n'ouvrent à aucune portes de cet appartement, on se pose toujours des questions à quoi sert de les laisser...
