Beautiful castle and room in wonderful surroundings

The castle and the room were utterly beautiful and romantic. The gothic st martins market was - for us, we were there to hike - unexpected and quirky.

Great romantic stay in a beautiful castle

We arrived early at the property as there was the "Ritterspiele" at the same time at the castle ground. We called the property and were allowed to check in way ahead of the arrival time - we really appreciated this possibility. The room was spacious and comfortable, the view over the castle ground amazing. As the festival was going on, it was an amazing location for us and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

The room had a shared bathroom that we shared with one other room. We were aware of this and didn´t have any problem with it, but it´s good to be aware of this during the booking process in order to avoid disappointment. We only saw the other room occupants once and didn´t have any queues etc when using the bathroom.

Fantastic castle, facilities minimal, lots of stairs, but worth the stay.

Lovely old castle, worth the stay if you are capable of steep stairs and understand that you are booking only a room and there are no facilities or restaurants etc. in the castle grounds or nearby (apart from a small canteeen style bakery). You also don’t get a tour, and everything was locked while we were there. We had the family room which had two rooms, a bathroom and a lounge room. It was great, and the beds fantastic.

There isn’t a reception, nor any signage. You need to call the number in the listing once you are the courtyard. Do not drive into the castle courtyard if you have anything larger than a small car. There are no facilities like a kitchen or laundry, nor any fridge in the room. It is just your room. It looked like smaller rooms had to share bathrooms.

Schönes Ambiente mit Abstrichen

Das Ambiente ist natürlich sehr schön. Die ganze Burg ist sehr sauber. Es gibt einen eigenen Parkplatz. Und es ist nachts sehr sehr ruhig. Freies WLAN. Bei Veranstaltungen ist man mittendrin, das ist natürlich echt toll.

Leider roch es im Zimmer sehr muffig. Das Zimmer war auch nicht das gebuchte, welches ein eigenes Waschbecken hat. Dieses hatte keines. Gemeinschaftsbad war zwar angekündigt, aber in der Preisklasse doch eher unangemessen. Die Heizung ließ sich nicht runterstellen. Und leider war auch das Bett auf einer Seite durchgelegen. Man sollte auch wissen, dass man, wenn eine Veranstaltung gerade stattfindet für diese Eintritt bezahlen muss, sonst kommt man gar nicht erst zum Eingang der Unterkunft.

Sehr außergewöhnliche Unterkunft, positiv gemeint. Tolle Ausstattung, als würde man in einem Museum übernachten. Äußerst freundliches Personal. Jeder Zeit wieder! Das war ein tolles Erlebnis!

Fijne lokatie, fijn personeel. Ook aardig dat we 2 flessen wijn konden afnemen.

het kasteel is prachtig , ook omdat het al 400 jaar in bezit is van deze familie.

Je kan er niet dineren, dat wisten we wel van te voren hoor, maar er is niet veel in de omgeving, Ze hebben ons wel geholpen met de tip om bij de golfclub te dineren. Het is daar lekker.

Schöne Zeitreise

Einmal so wohnen! Der Atem der Geschichte durchweht alle Räume, und es wirkt, als seien die adeligen Herrschaften erst gerade ausgezogen. Wenn man nicht erwartet, zeitgemäße Hotelstandards zu bekommen, erlebt man hier einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in einer wahrhaft historischen Umgebung. Wir konnten uns entspannt umschauen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Oportunidad mágica y especial

El castillo es magnífico y es una oportunidad de estar en un entorno mágico. El dueño fue muy amable y nos guió hasta la habitación, también nos explicó todo muy bien. La habitación era preciosa, limpia y cómoda. También había una pequeña sala donde tomar cagé y té. Fabuloso, estamos encantados!!!
