Good location, but service needs serious improvement I would rate my stay 4/10 overall. I had the impression that the management is genuinely trying to make the hotel better, so I decided to write a detailed review highlighting what worked well and, more importantly, what I believe should be improved. Positives: The location is very good. I was allowed to check in early, and after checking with the manager, the morning receptionist agreed to switch off the music for around two hours because I had an important online meeting. Free drinking water is also available at reception, although nobody told me about it during check-in and I discovered it only later. The biggest issue was the evening receptionist. I needed to work and asked him to use headphones because he was watching a movie on his phone with loud shouting and noise. He replied in a dismissive manner that he did not have headphones and could do nothing about it. He did not even reduce the volume and simply continued watching. Later, he ordered food, ate at reception and eventually sat sprawled on the reception sofa watching his movie. For someone at work representing a hotel, I found this behaviour very unprofessional. Perhaps the hotel could provide him with headphones, since apparently none are available. The morning receptionist was also not particularly customer-oriented. My initial request to switch off the music was rejected quite abruptly before he agreed to ask the manager. Later, I sat on a normal office chair with no sign or indication that it was reserved, only to be told I could not sit there because it was “the manager’s chair.” Overall, I sometimes felt a certain selectivity in how guests were communicated with. There were also room issues. There are only two electrical sockets, which was insufficient even for one person when using the refrigerator/kettle, phone and laptop. The plumbing was leaking and did not work properly. During my two-night stay, the room was never cleaned and housekeeping was never offered. Finally, I received a call about five minutes before the 12:00 checkout time asking whether I was leaving. I was already preparing to leave, and calling before checkout time had even arrived felt unnecessarily pushy. Overall, the hotel has a good location and I believe the management is making an effort to improve it. This is exactly why I hope they take this feedback constructively: the main areas requiring attention are reception staff professionalism and customer service, together with several basic room issues. Addressing these points could make the overall guest experience significantly better. Overall: 4/10.
