The location was perfect for our visit to friends in the area. It also provided additional parking, which helped when we received visitors. It's located near the beach and a few restaurants. The rooms were comfortable, and the air conditioning was a good addition.
I particularly don't like paying a breakage deposit (R1000) because it involves more admin before and after the stay. I prefer to pay everything once, and for owners to include that in the total cost for simplicity. In all our travels, this has been the only place where we needed a deposit. Also, having the exact amount of cutlery and crockery can be a little irritating, and having one toilet roll supplied between four people for three nights was very Spartan.

It was safe and secure. The apartment itself was beautiful, stylish yet cozy.

Pros: nice location, close to beach and restaurants, aircon (but only in living area), smart TV, Internet, owner seems friendly and helpful. Beautiful little appartment.
Cons: parking is very small, hollowed out double bed mattress as other guests have pointed out. These aren't serious issues.
Biggest con / Major issues: an impolite 'agent'. I sent several messages updating our ETA. She phoned an hour or so before our arrival, she said she couldn't hear me, I repeatedly said I am driving and I have sent all the updated arrival times via the official channels. She got rude and insisted I repeat everything over and over again, fine, I did. I messaged 5 minutes before arriving that we are 5 minutes away as I sensed she was not in the mood to meet us as arranged. I arrive in the heat and there's no one there to meet us, roughly 30°C & no shade to park, I wait another +-6 minutes before she arrives. Before I could even put my bags down she insisted to know what time I am leaving. I said I will not overstay my welcome and I will inform her the morning, but no later than the check out time. She insisted that it's 10am then, after I repeatedly said we might want to get out earlier. I stopped repeating myself after about the third or fourth time.
Other signs of a negligent agent: no toilet paper on dispenser. Fridge over frozen & can't close, fridge thus constantly runs which gets quite irritating and noisey at night (this thing must've been running like that for who knows how long as the freezer was rendered unusable on arrival), I didn't really need to use it, but informed the owner nonetheless. The constantly running fridge due to the freezer not being able to close in turn made the electricity almost run out soon after our arrival, causing the smart meter to constantly beep a low electricity warning. I had to unplug the fridge for my sanity and BUY more electricity in the middle of the night for this property that is mismanaged by the custodian.
