Irving Park updated vintage top unit 2-flat

The apartment is a beautifully updated vintage top-unit flat with two incredibly comfortable bedrooms. It was fully equipped with everything our family of three needed. Free street parking was easy to find, and we loved the back sitting area accessible right from the kitchen. The host, Heather, was absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful—she even safely collected and stored an Amazon order we placed before our arrival!

There is no washing machine or dryer in the unit. Also, because it is a top-floor unit, you do have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs, but the wonderful apartment features and hospitality make it entirely worth it.

The space in the apartment was good for the three of us.The bathroom and the kitchen had everything you'd need to stay. It was well supplied for your use.. There was free parking in the street right in front of the apartment. The TV channel selection was excellent and so was the internet. The location was about 20 minutes from downtown, which was good.

The entrance into the building or the landing hadn't been cleaned in a long time. There were leaves, dirt and debris right before you walked in the door. The owner has two beautiful big dogs that she made every effort to keep quiet, she did a great job. We are dog lovers but the foyer smelled like dogs and there was lots of dog hair. The steps are a little hairy going up to the apt with a handrail only at the very top. . The door handle to enter the apartment was very loose, there was a bolt lock to lock the door. The 2 sets of keys are outside the apartment door, which was a little concerning. The main door is a combination lock so that helped our concerns. I appreciate the architecture and the history of Chicago's housing, homes are right next to each other and there's nothing you can do about your neighbors and the upkeep of their property but..sitting on the back porch was not relaxing, the surrounding yards were littered in trash and the electric wires were so close to the porch. The owners yard could have used a little straightening as well

Fantastic place! I highly recommend it. Beautiful, cozy interior with great attention to detail. Excellent, convenient neighborhood with everything you need nearby, located on a quiet and safe street. The host is super responsive and helpful. You’ll absolutely love staying here!
