The place was more spacious than the photos suggested – large bedrooms and a living room. The beds and bedding were super comfy! The welcome treats (for us and the dog) were very welcome indeed. The family garden is lovely, and seeing the deer wander through was a treat (something to be mindful of if you’re taking a dog with bad recall). Check-in was very clear, and we had great communication with the hosts for our stay.

The patio area is great, with relatively comfy seating, but it would have been great to lounge-sit outside in the garden and soak up the greenery. However, I appreciate this is the family garden, and while they’re happy for people to use it, we didn’t feel like it was appropriate to sit and picnic there. I can’t remember how clear this was from the listing, but if you’re looking to spend time ‘lounging around the grounds’ or letting your kids run outside, this probably isn’t the right property.
