Hippo Paradise Lodge and Campsites

Waking up to elephants, watching hippos in the water, and spotting crocodiles along the shoreline made this an unforgettable Kariba safari experience.

The stay was too short, we wished we had booked another night!

Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and friendly also tailoring a meal to my vegan requirements. The surrounding area is beautiful, an elephant passed nearby in the morning and the nature walk provided by the lodge was excellent; true to the name, there were several hippos around.

The shower water in the morning was cold.

The breakfast was very good, the chef is excellent. We also enjoyed our dinners, my sons enjoyed their meals. The location is excellent, we managed to see the hippos during the night grazing, lions and leopards hovering around the night and waterbucks are always on site. The songs of birds during the morning are amazing. I like to bush location where you can dine with nature. The workers were very helpful they took us for Kariba village tour and fishing. I will definitely go back there and i recommend people to use the facilities. There are also indoor activities that is convenient if you do not want to leave the lodge.

They should be clear on their charges, we were told different charges for having a tour guide.
