The Old Surgery Crail- welcoming apartment

Clean, spacious, 2 toilets, nice courtyard outside.

Heating was set to 12.5° on arrival and took ages to warm up so it was a cold few hours. Could have been set higher or to come on a bit before arrival. The TV seemed to turn itself on when we were out which was weird. No freezer but not a big deal. Asked to strip beds before leaving, not a big deal but we were on holiday.

Location in Crail. Pleasant property. The TV worked! Well equipped kitchen. Good to have 2 washrooms/toilets. Nice to have some outdoor space.

Kitchen utensils and saucepans needed washimng before we could use them. The oven was not clean. Lack of privacy for bedroom windows at street level. Net curtains or frosted film over the lower panes of glass would be helpful. There was no hanging space. Coat rack behind the door/bed were provided but there were only 5 coat hangers supplied between 2 of us. The 2nd wahroom could do with a bit of TLC It was nice to have a sitting out space but there was only 1 table to share between the 2 apartments and it was always occupied which made us feel awkward. There really needs to be a table and chairs supplied for each apartment.

Very central, plenty of on street parking. Good selection of shops and places to eat.

Didn’t like Roman blinds. flat is located on main street so had people walking past on street and looking in. Wooden blinds or similar would offer more privacy. Had to go outside to access freezer which was in an outbuilding. Layout didn’t work for us. one of the bedroom’s was immediately to the left as you came in front door and then there was another door which took you through to living room/kitchen so it left This bedroom quite isolated from rest of flat as the other bedroom is away at end of corridor. Not ideal when you have children.
