Ocean Front 1BR - Caravelle 1036

The view was great. Nice balcony to sit and watch the sunrise and dolphins. Easy beach access. Nice to have the bedroom away from the living room and balcony to put the kids to bed and sit out, have a drink, and listen to the waves. Kitchen was small but functional with a full fridge. Bathroom was clean and functional. Bed linens were clean. I was a little worried because other reviews talked about insects, but I didn’t see any insects or pests and I was looking. The price was great.

The couch is very dirty and could stand to be replaced. The beds are small-they worked for us because we’re small people, but larger people may not be comfortable 2 in a bed. In general, the building and this unit are older and show the wear and tear that can be expected in an older property used by many many vacationers. If you go in with that mindset, it’s a great value for a beach view.

The view couldn't get any better! The unit was quiet and comfortable The kitchen was super convenient (it could use a baking sheet, though) The bathroom was well stocked. Their is a broom that I used multiple times per day! There is free parking! There are 2 garages. If you can't park in the one attached, there is overflow across the street. This is no different than anywhere else you will stay. We traveled with 4 people, and the bathroom was stocked for 6. ***this has nothing to do with the unit but the resort itself. The resort could use some sprucing up it is outdated and dingy. However, I didn't see anything that was so awful that I would go back! The pool is fun for kids, and the lazy river is relaxing if you don't mind kids, haha. There is a snack shop right by the pool that we didn't end eating at but is super conveinent! The sundeck is really nice. The indoor pool is small but works in a pinch if the weather isn't cooperating. The distance from the resort to the beach can't get much better! Easy to go back and forth from the beach to the pool if you want.

The smell! When I walked in, the smell took your breath away! This is a non-smoking (of any type) unit, and it was definitely heavily smoked (Marijuana) in prior to our arrival. I contacted the property manager, and he arrived soon after to do a walk thru. The smell lingered throughout our whole stay but got better. - this isn't major. However, the unit could definitely use a face lift. Some paint would do it wonders! - it wasn't the cleanest upon arrival, but it also wasn't unlivable like some others have experienced (no bugs). I brought some of my own cleaning supplies and made sure to clean all surfaces before we unpacked. THE MURPHY BED IS A SAFTEY CONCERN! I pointed out the fact that it was being held up by a chair, and I was told that there is a part in back order. We needed to use it, so we had to weigh it down with luggage in order for someone to sleep in it and be able to get up without it springing up.
