Sailor`s Cabin - Old Town - Walk to Duval !

Every detail as stated and parking was better than ever imagined!

My wife and I went from Sunday through Saturday in early May. We flew directly into Key West, and the only time we used anything but our feet to get around was to and from the airport. The cottage is located (basically) a block from Duvall and within a mile walk of everything. The area is very safe and quiet, but we had great neighbors staying at the adjacent cottages. I could see if you had a loud couple next to you, that it would be annoying. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper because the roosters will let you know when it's about 4 am. The kitchen had just enough for two people; however, if you are making something to eat, there really is nowhere inside to sit and eat comfortably, except the bed. It was nice to come into a rental and find basic seasoning and stuff for regular cooking. Like with many houses in the Keys, there is a termite problem that you will see evidence of, but nothing that will ruin your stay. I wish the place were just a touch cleaner, but it was really nice. Communication was excellent, and we never needed or waited for anything. There was an issue with the bathroom door, but it wasn't a problem for us. They offered to fix it the day we let them know, but we weren't worried about it.All in all, we would come back and stay there again.

Great location. Only 1 wash clothes for the each of us for 4 nights . Not enough. Need additional utensils, spatula.Otherwise cute cottages. Centrally located to everthing

Our unit was very cozy and mostly clean. The air conditioning unit worked great and we were close enough to downtown to walk.We did have to complain about the floors and they came back and cleaned the floors two times. We noticed that the cleaners must not have been thorough because when we went to use the microwave, there was an old half eaten pizza still in the microwave from the prior tenants. We love the fact that there was plenty of condiments and things that people would normally not bring on vacation like soap and shampoo, but unfortunately, the shampoo dispenser did not work in the shower. The shower was very small and very low pressure coming out of the showerhead. There was plenty of items in the kitchen like sugar and cream and Keurig K cups so we did not have to go out and buy anything. It was also a nice added feature at the kitchen sink there was a filtered water dispenser. By the second night, I noticed a peculiar odor when we were in bed and it wasn’t until the last night that we discovered it was actually in the mattress from someone urinating. The odor was very strong in the mid area of the bed. I think the Property Manager needs to either replace the mattress or at least do a thorough cleaning of the mattress pad. I think the property manager should consider crediting us back part of our rental fee due to these disgusting matters.
