Luxury Stay in an Expansive Historical Home

We were in the area for a nearby wedding and stayed five nights. This property could not have been more ideal for the comings and goings of 10 people who had big event stuff to get done during the days, yet needed a comfortable environment to spend evenings and recharge for the next day.The open floor plan on the first floor was perfect for accommodating everyone living at the home, yet also provided spaces where someone could find a cozy, private nook. No one ever felt even slightly cramped for space.We also had two golden retrievers with us, and we are grateful that this property accommodates pets; they absolutely loved the spacious yard. The brick floor multi-season room made a perfect place to feed and water them.The bedrooms were also amazing, with two king bedrooms en suite bathrooms, along with another shared bathroom on the second floor and a half-bath on the first. A tankless water heater meant the hot water took a while to warm up, but once warm never ran out.I could go on and on about this place. Multiple TVs, it was stocked with food when we arrived (and we arrived late), a truly gourmet kitchen, a pod coffee maker already stocked with high-quality pods, more towels than even 10 of us could use (though there's a washer and dryer too), a treadmill, and more.This is, without a doubt, the nicest Vrbo (or similar place) we've ever stayed, and the host was very accommodating and communicative during our stay. I can't recommend this property enough.

Out of all the VRBO’s we’ve stayed at over the years (including three of my own), this property is by far one of the best if not THE best we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. The host, Naomi, is awesome and generous. We arrived to find an array of goodies to which our teenage son was thrilled with. Quick responses and excellent communications. Clean and elegant property with all the amenities one could ask for. Open layout, gourmet kitchen…just perfect. We would definitely book this property again. Naomi put a lot of thought behind updating this historic home and presenting it. It’s truly a gem. You won’t be disappointed!! We’ll be recommending this property to our friends. Until next time…

One of a kind farmhouse beautifully restored. We stayed for a family Thanksgiving. It was perfect from top to bottom. Excellent location right off the Merritt Parkway and close to everything. First class hospitality upon arrival. Highly recommended!

My family and friends greatly enjoyed our stay at the Basset House. Michael was extremely helpful in accommodating our needs, we had food, milk, beverages, fruits and pastry waiting for us on our check-in day. This place is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and organized and everyone feels like home there. We had a wonderful time and will hold beautiful memories from The Bassett House!
