Quietly located in a small hamlet at the foothills of the Italian Alps this recently refurbished apartment is perfectly positioned a 10-minute drive from downtown Varese and a 5-minute walk from the lake shore. Visitors will also find a popular cycle/pedestrian path that follows the perimeter of Lake Varese which is a 4-minute walk away.

Arranged across the first floor of a historic two-story building this spacious apartment has a modern rustic interior with characterful exposed stone feature walls. The property also benefits from underfloor heating and enjoys a large open-plan living space. This area is furnished with a comfortable sofa, a smart TV, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen fitted with; a cooker hob, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a Nespresso coffee machine and a fridge freezer.

Location

The property is located in the hamlet of Voltorre, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy an 8-minute walk from the eastern shores of Lake Varese and a minute’s walk from the Cloister of Voltorre, one of the most important medieval monuments in the Varese area. This accommodation is also in easy reach of grocery stores and several restaurants on the lake.

Varesse is known for its charming architecture, green spaces and parks including Estensi Gardens (a 14-minute drive). The town also has a rich cultural and historical heritage; the Basilica di San Vittore and Villa Panza (a 17-minute drive) are both worth visiting. Villa Panza is surrounded by beautiful gardens and houses a significant collection of contemporary art. Another popular excursion is a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sacro Monte di Varese which is a 16-minute drive from the accommodation and consists of nine beautiful 17th century chapels and a church.

Two other significant lakes are also within reach, Guree Monvalle beach on Lake Maggiore is a 20-minute drive away and the charming town of Porto Ceresio on the Eastern shores of Lake Lugano is a 35-minute drive, near the Swiss border.
