The gentleman spoke English quite well, was very friendly and helpful. He explained in detail what is where and how to get to places. He gave me a number to his trusted taxi guy, as there are MANY SCAMMERS around.
The room had everything, nice shower, cool AC, beautiful view. It was a bit expensive as I could have (should have) gone to Ksamil, where I'd got a room for half the price at that time.
DISTANT: I didn't realize while booking that this is SO FAR from everything! If you have a car - this is no problem.
SECURITY: There was only one shortcut route to the beach. Along the path someone had left an aggressive dog guarding their property. This dog would not let anyone pass and even jumped on passing cars. So I didn't get to visit the beach.
There were also three horses running free just down the road, less than 100m away from the property. Yes, I stepped on their poop, but I was more worried about the horses as one of them was still little. Maybe it's parents are protective = aggressive.
More than this, there really was no room for pedestrians around this area. The main roads had a lane for pedestrians, but it was blocked by overgrown trees and such so I had to jump on the same lane with cars all the time. About this whole place I was thinking how insecure I would have felt, had I been there with my 5-yo daughter! What if you get hurt here? How near is the closest hospital?
Next time I'm going to skip Dhërmi all together.
