This property has everything you could want! The gardens and pool were an excellent place to relax!

There was nothing to not like about this property except we didn’t get to stay longer.

The property is beautiful. And, it’s bigger than it appears in the photos. The house has large glass windows that ca be opened for a great breeze, the rooms and bathrooms nicely done and offer a great view with privacy. The kitchen is fully functional, with loads of appliances and kitchenware. The bungalow is a perfect spot for extra guests. And the pool! The pool makes this property special.

We liked it all. The property manager and team do a fantastic job of preparing the property, following up on any issues. We have no negative impression about this property at all. Best vacation ever.

We chose Three Monkeys as the end of our 3 week long trip through Costa Rica (which included Playa Hermosa, Tamarindo, Monteverde, La Fortuna and Tortuguero) to relax for a few days in a quiet environment near a few beaches and with our own pool and garden to hang out. Our host Zinni answered quickly on WhatsApp and was very friendly and helpful, also with little things such as when we didn't know how to get the dryer to run (needing to push the alarm button in to get the drying program started isn't something you'd expect as a European). Getting the keys was easy. The house is exactly as it looks on the photos with a gorgeous garden, a large pool and plenty of space inside and outside the house. You even have a second outdoor kitchen near the pool with an outdoor shower and an additional small bathroom. The garden is visited by monkeys, agoutis and plenty of birds, which gave us often an opportunity to watch animals that before we could only see by taking a tour through a jungle. The main kitchen is huge, as is the fridge and the amount of cookware. You can choose to eat inside or outside near the pool. You have a large place to park your car and when we left, we heard that the gate for the driveway was supposed to be turned into an automatic gate, which is a great addition, because opening the door manually always required someone leaving the car and dealing with the two wings of the gate. The two bedrooms in the main house feature a king size bed, a bathroom, a separate shower and an air-con each. The two bedrooms in the smaller separate house feature a queen size bed with an air-con each and a shared bathroom. In case you're traveling with younger kids, just be aware that you probably won't want to leave them by themselves in a separate house approx. 20 meters away from the entrance to the main house. For our kids (19 and 17) it was totally OK and they even had their own living room with their own kitchenette.

Maintaining a house in a jungle environment isn't easy and as a house owner or maintainer you're fighting the elements constantly. As a result the deckchairs already looked a bit worn and could probably use a deep cleaning. Also the many glass doors around the living room area with their wooden frames were a bit skewed and left bigger holes between the outer frame of the door and the door itself. Luckily the amount of mosquitos getting through these openings wasn't significant, but sound-wise you were basically still outside even if you had all doors thoroughly closed. That turned out to be relevant when the neighbor house got occupied by a group of party people on Friday who were playing techno music the entire evening and most of the night. Zinni was on it immediately after we informed her and tried her best to get into contact with them or the house owner. And when she couldn't find out exactly who that was, she involved the authorities after the evening had gotten late. And her efforts definitely helped, because during the next day the people had turned down their music significantly. But when we wanted to go to sleep on the first night it was basically as if we were lying right next to their sound system despite all doors being closed. However, this was the only real fly in the ointment during our stay. The fact that only the bedrooms could be air-conditioned but not the living room wasn't a big problem for us. We like it warmer anyway and turning on the various fans was mostly sufficient for us. But having had the option to cool the main room down a bit as well would have been nice on the one day where the sun was shining non-stop and heating up the house more than on the other a bit more cloudy days (we were there in August, which is supposed to be the rainy season).

Exceptionnel ! La maison est magnifique, le jardin l'est tout autant. C'est propre et la literie très confortable. Il y a tout les équipements dont on a besoin. La wifi fonctionne très bien. Les propriétaires sont gentils et très réactifs. La cerise sur le gâteau : Visite d'animaux dans le jardin : singes capucins, oiseaux, agoutis et même un python. C'était merveilleux.
