Remodeled Townhouse in Watertown

Easy public transport into the city centre. Nice rooms. Good eating options and some shops nearby. Neighbourhood bar within walking distance. Aircon units in each room.

Wasn’t as close to centre of Boston as we would have ideally liked but price definitely reflected this.

The location was great for walking to the lovely Charles River walk , all the stores and restaurants in that area of Watertown. It was a quiet cul de sac off a main road, which I appreciated. It has a green small back yard with a deck patio area and trees, accessible from the kitchen back door. Appreciated that we could do some laundry easily.

The one bathroom is downstairs next to the kitchen table. The stairs to the 2 large bedrooms on the next floor, are very steep. For older people who often wake up and have to relieve their bladders at least once a night, it was inconvenient and dangerous to have to use those stairs. (We were very aware and held onto the one railing every time, and we left the bathroom light on so that the stairs got some light along with the kitchen area.) We never could figure out how to use the disposal - maybe it was broken. There was the odor one gets from old food in the sink pipes, probably because the disposal wasn't functional. (The drainage of pipes was still fine).
