Vila Merkuri - 3-Storey Villa with Sea View

View, location, space, value. Overall a great place to stay.

Not much kitchen equipment.

This place was truly amazing. The views are out of this world. If you like peace and quiet and being amongst nature then this is the place to be. The host was very kind bringing us home grown fresh fruit and vegetables. There is a local shop 5 mins walk up the hill and a larger supermarket at the bottom of the hill, 25 mins walk with numerous hotels and restaurants to choose from. The accommodation is spacious with a large dining table and comfortable lounge area. There's ample storage in the bedrooms and the bathroom has a large walk in shower. The three balconies all have the most amazing views of the Adriatic Sea and the Karaburun Peninsula and perfectly located to view the sunset every night.

This is by no means a 'not like' but you do need a car. The drive up to the villa is a steep windy 1.5 km road, the reason it has such wonderful views. The kitchen could be better equipped with more utensils and pans. It does not have a TV which to be honest wasn't a problem as it adds to the serenity of the place and it does have a good WiFi connection. Could do with some board games, I left a set of playing cards.

Elisabeta the owner is responsive even is she isn’t on site. The accomodation is ok but in renovation (we had to move floors during our stay).

Sadly this part of Albania is in rampant development. The natural landscape is being neglected and fly tripping is very common. We didn’t find the history, culture, value and hospitality of the Albanian people here. Their values are being eroded. It’s over commercialised and becoming like the sadder parts of spain. This is unlike the area surrounding Berat and Skhoder which are stunning.
