SUNRISE at LAIE Private Beachfront Luxury Home with AC

The location was amazing!!!! Right on the beach that was great for young kids. Walking distance of the Polynesian cultural center. One of the disconnected rooms was upgraded with ac after we booked which was a nice surprise.

Many more good things than bad, but a few things to be aware of: The main thing I didn’t like was the hostess required credit card and personal information outside of booking.com. booking.com has conflicting statements about this. They specifically warn against giving out personal info outside of app, but do allow rental agreements to ask for security deposits. The other things are small like the master bedroom/bathroom has a foggy sliding glass door that doesn’t lock with no door for bathroom within the room. The other bathroom also has the same foggy glass, non locking sliding door and the two Ohana rooms are not attached and have no bathroom access without coming back into the house (we knew this beforehand). The master bedroom has a weird smart toilet and the toilet seat will randomly open and shut even when no one is in the bathroom which is mildly annoying when trying to go to sleep. Overall the place is very nice and the beach location is AMAZING!!!! Just think it’s helpful to be aware of this issues when booking. We had a wonderful stay and have considered returning for our next trip.

This beach house exceeded every expectation I had. This was my family's first trip to Oahu, and staying in Laie was one of the best decisions I made. If you're looking for the authentic, laid-back Hawaiian experience, this is it. Waikiki is fun to visit for a day (combine with a visit to Pearl Harbor), but returning to the peaceful North Shore was exactly what I wanted. The location is fantastic. Having the Polynesian Cultural Center directly across the street, the Sugar Mill food trucks nearby, and Kualoa Ranch just a short drive away made exploring the island incredibly easy. Those ended up being some of the highlights of my trip. The owners have clearly invested in this property. The updated kitchen, bathrooms, and flooring made everything feel fresh and well cared for, and they thought of all the little extras that make a vacation easier, from beach towels to snorkel gear. What truly made this stay special, though, was the beach. It genuinely felt like we had our own private stretch of sand. Being able to walk right onto the beach for an early morning swim, relax by the water throughout the day, or simply listen to the waves in the evening created some of my favorite family memories. Finally, the communication from the owners was exceptional—the best I've experienced on any vacation rental platform. They were responsive, proactive, and made me feel comfortable and well taken care of from booking through checkout. I would absolutely return. If we are fortunate enough to visit Oahu again, this property will be our first choice.

This may have been my misunderstanding, but I didn't realize there were two separate casitas. I knew about the one by the beach, but I didn't realize the room with the three beds was also a detached casita. Luckily, one of my party had to cancel the trip so this ended up having minimal impact on our sleeping arrangements. The only other challenge for me was the lack of air conditioning in the casitas. I completely understand that air conditioning isn't common or expected in many places, and I truly appreciated having it in the main house. The beach casita had a small portable air conditioner, and while it was still warm, I was able to sleep there. The other casita, however, was much hotter, and I'm not sure we would have been able to sleep comfortably in it. Overall, this was a wonderful property, and these were relatively minor issues. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

The property is gorgeous and immaculately kept. As a lifelong Oahu resident I have been to some pretty special places on the island, and this property is among the best. The location cannot be beat, the house is beautifully decorated, and the Bathtub Beach is truly special. This is Oahu's best kept secret!

The hottub had an electrical issue which prevented us from enjoying it but we appreciate that the owner was attentive, responded right away, and tried to help fix the issue (even on a holiday).

The view is beautiful! We enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning. The beach towels were well stocked in the sheds along with some beach toys for the kids which was nice.

The host requested that all screens and doors remain closed; however, one of the sliding doors had a detached screen, which resulted in issues with flies. Additionally, the master bedroom fan is very loud and the bathroom does not have a door, and the lack of privacy was somewhat problematic. The two casitas are more similar to sheds, as they do not have air conditioning or window screens and became extremely hot during the day. We often left the windows open for ventilation, but then experienced significant temperature drops at night, which disrupted our sleep. There is also no bathroom in the casitas, making it inconvenient to walk across the lawn late at night to use the main facilities. While the location itself is very beautiful and helped offset some of these challenges, communication with the host was difficult. When we reported that the internet was not working, her response over the phone felt dismissive and unfriendly. Overall, her tone came across as passive-aggressive rather than supportive. The host provided a detailed list of rules for guests to follow; however, when we raised concerns about the accommodations, she became defensive instead of acknowledging the inconveniences we experienced.
