The host did help by accepting the cancellation, which we appreciate. However, aside from that, I cannot say this was a reliable or trustworthy booking experience.

We booked this place because the listing looked beautiful and had very high reviews. However, when we arrived in Naples, the host told us that the apartment we booked was not actually available. He could have told us earlier, but he didn’t. Instead, he offered to show us a different apartment. We were already at the location of the original apartment, which turned out to be far away, while the host was closer to the train station. Meeting him would have required us to travel back across the city. We declined to see the alternative apartment, especially after reading other reviews describing similar situations and warning that this is a common scam in this area.
