Seas the Day Romansbaai

Our stay at Seas the Sea in Gansbaai was one of the most beautiful surprises of our trip to South Africa. We honestly did not expect to discover such an exceptional villa in the middle of a secluded, private nature estate where zebras roam freely. The house itself is extraordinary. Beautifully decorated with creative and thoughtful details, it has a unique character that makes you feel instantly at home. It is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate eight people, while still feeling intimate and wonderfully connected to the surrounding nature. Every room and every detail reflects a real sense of taste and creativity. The villa is surrounded by lush vegetation, and a small path leads you directly to what must be one of the most pristine and natural beaches we have ever seen. There is something incredibly special about having such untouched nature right on your doorstep, with no crowds and no feeling of mass tourism. One of the absolute highlights was waking up early and encountering the zebras at sunrise. Seeing them wandering freely through the estate, bathed in the morning light, was a magical experience that we will never forget. It is the kind of moment that reminds you how rare it is to stay somewhere that truly feels wild and authentic. The location is also perfect for discovering the incredible marine life of the region — from whale watching in Hermanus to shark experiences in Gansbaai. Yet despite being close to these remarkable destinations, Seas the Sea feels like a world away from the tourist crowds. What we loved most was its authenticity. This is a place that feels untouched, peaceful, and genuinely connected to nature. A true hidden gem for anyone looking to experience the beauty of South Africa in a more intimate and meaningful way. Seas the Sea is not simply a beautiful villa — it is an experience. The combination of wild nature, incredible wildlife, thoughtful design, and complete tranquility made our stay truly unforgettable.

Seas the Day was the perfect setting for our girls’ weekend away. Tucked away in a peaceful and private location, the home has great views of both the estate and the ocean. Beautifully styled throughout, it felt welcoming and comfortable from the moment we arrived. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and each bedroom came with its own en-suite bathroom. We soaked in the hot tub at sunset, curled up in the cosy reading nook playing board games, and gathered around the fireplace in the evenings. The communal areas are ideal for spending time together, yet the house is spacious enough for anyone needing a bit of quiet time. Communication with Dianne, the owner, was smooth and effortless from start to finish. We could easily have stayed longer and are already planning a return visit in summer to fully enjoy the private beach and the gorgeous outdoor living spaces this home has to offer.
