Dreamy Nomads is a very friendly hostel with great private rooms. The staff are lovely and very helpful in telling you what to do in Sun Moon Lake. There is a real traveller, friendly atmosphere which is great if you're travelling solo and the private rooms are comfy and spacious.

I think it is a little expensive but otherwise a lovely place to stay.

comfortable hostel 3min walk from Shuishe bus terminal - map directions may be a bit round about, but once you;ve found the location, you then realise that you can walk along large open carpark to get to it, or across the carpark to get to Monday Coffee (cafe & resto to 8pm), also Nomad Day cafe is excellent 2 min walk from hostel. 6F (with elevator) reception and kitchen/common space with multiple seating types , open and relaxing - with air & any mosquitos, fridge use, simple kitchen. morning simple DIY breakfast is a nice touch. dorms simple but spacious and well set up with curtains, light, international outlet , aircon (seems to be controlled by staff - only activated near bedtime), small size lockers wifi great throughout village is hectic with day tourists (weekday), and shops etc hassling a bit, evening much quieter,

The location was great, less than 5 minutes away from the main bus station. There were several convenience stores nearby, as well as plenty of restaurants, and the surrounding area was relatively quiet. There were also many bicycle rental shops in the area if you're planning on cycling around the lake, although that seems to be common around there in general. The curtains around the beds were a very nice touch, offering a bit of privacy and isolation despite the hostel environment. The staff was very kind and helpful, giving out tips and recommendations, as well as answering all of our questions, and we ended up chatting quite a lot with them during our stay. The rooftop common area was also excellent — a great place to relax and meet other travelers. The simple breakfast offered in the morning was also appreciated.

The rooms were a bit smaller than expected, especially considering that most travelers would likely have large luggage with them. I also wasn’t a big fan of having to pay extra, no matter how small the sum, to "rent" towels, although luckily we had brought our own.
