From the time we arrived to experience a gorgeous sunset on the Neuse River and until we left after a 5-day stay, ‘The Loft on the Neuse’ turned out to be the perfect place for our Thanksgiving visit to New Bern. It was just the right fit for us as a couple & the fact that it was pet friendly and allowed us to bring our dog with us was a deal clincher! It had all the amenities of home, including one of the most comfortable beds we’ve encountered through many VRBO rentals. The owner (Bill) was a most gracious host, a wealth of knowledge about the area, including things to do, places to eat & sites to see. We and Artie (our puppy dog) will definitely look to stay at ‘The Loft on the Neuse’ the next time we are in the New Bern area.

The best thing about the location is the view. Great view of the river and it’s cool to watch the train cross the river almost right next to the house. There’s a cute little park next to the house. It was mostly clean besides some small areas. The bed and pillows were comfy. We had trouble sleeping in in the mornings because the neighbors down the street have roosters that crow early in the morning around 4-5am every single morning for the 4 mornings we were there. It would crow for hours nonstop. The owner was friendly, checked up on us, and lives in the adjacent house. I enjoyed meeting the sweet kitties and dogs on the property.

Me and my husband enjoyed our stay. We first arrived to a few issues but these were quickly resolved by the host. She was very quick to respond to our complaints/requests and made everything right in a very timely manner. The space was perfect for me and my husband and for our son and his new bride who live in the area who stopped by to enjoy the pier and views of the water that were so relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked with not only coffee but also some food and drinks in the refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable.
