Etoile des Alpes

L’emplacement était vraiment très bien et le logement était spacieux; de plus l’hôte a toujours répondu très vite à mes questions d’une façon très agréable

C’est dommage que le logement n’était pas très propre

We would like to sincerely thank you for our wonderful Christmas holidays in Saint-Gervais! We loved everything: the cozy and well-equipped apartments, the convenient location. Even though there was little snow, we had a great time — skiing on the available slopes, enjoying family walks, the thermal baths, and the Alpine atmosphere. The child is thrilled, and we all feel perfectly rested. We definitely want to come back next year!

Sehr schöne Lage. Kurze Wege zwischen Parkplatz und Unterkunft. Der Gastgeber hat schnell auf Anfragen reagiert. Schöne große Unterkunft. Preis und Leistung stimmen.

The apartment is well located on the mountain and, when there is sufficient snow at 800m, it is possible to ski down to it via a red run. The beds are comfortable and all main appliances — oven, microwave and fridge — are operational. The property is functional and provides the essentials for a ski stay.

The ski-in/ski-out description is dependent on snow conditions at the apartment’s altitude and involves a red run, so it is not suitable ski-in access for beginners. Likewise, the run becomes difficult if the snow has started to melt, it had by mid Febrary. If there is no snow at that level, you need to take the lift down and then walk up to approximately 400 metres uphill in ski boots. The apartment feels tired and in need of updating. There are very few plug sockets; extension leads are necessary in the main bedroom if you both want to charge devices, the kitchen has only one usable socket with an adaptor (requiring appliances to be plugged and unplugged), and there are no plugs or bedside lights in the bunk area. The bunk room also has no window and no door, which may not suit families with children who need to sleep while the main space is in use. The fridge is old, the kitchen equipment is limited and somewhat haphazard (for example, no grater, no mop and well-used pans), and the advertised “flat screen TV” is a computer monitor. Pillows and duvets appear well used which some may be uncomfortable with even with their own bed linen.
