A really nice place to stay near Exeter and not far from beach or Dartmoor

Great location. Really nice pub with lovely staff. Dog friendly in most areas so well catered for. Steak night was very good and reasonable value.

Room a disable one (we are not!) but still nice. It was too hot despite radiator not being on. No other heating controls so opened window.

Absolutely Immaculate and comfortable

All are Immaculately clean, spacious, stylish and extremely comfortable. Beds are huge and rooms have everything you need, including a tiny fridge for fresh milk. Couldn’t recommend a stay here highly enough.

Served too early for business travellers, 0800 am so I could not have it. On previous more leisurely visits it has been excellent and great value

Needed instruction as to how to use the coffee machine. Choice of room, mine was very 'masculine'. Dinner prices are quite high so I only had one meal where I would have had two. Some staff not friendly, made me feel I was a trouble asking for a meal at 2000, others a little in need of training, others lovely. For the price I would have expected better

Fantastic pub hotel! Would recommend to eat and stay.

We first came here for New Years Eve 2025 celebrations and stayed the night. They had a theme - Golden Awards, it was really fun dressing up, fun night! We met the owners who were very welcoming and brilliant hosts. We knew we would come back one day, we loved it so much. Almost a year later, we decided to have a spontaneous night away at The Ley Arms on 21/22 Dec. Exquisite room, beautifully furnished, super cosy, high spec bathroom and boutique looking. Total luxury!.The entire pub had a lovely Christmas vibe. We had an awesome Christmas meal and appreciated the Xmas crackers left for guests and breakfast was excellent! It was great to meet Martin and his sister again, they’ve thought of every single detail to make this place 10/10. Worth visiting.

Magnificent

Absolutely perfect. Gorgeous pub, lovely food & a simply fantastic room. Big, clean, wonderfully appointed ( thank you so much for the lighted mirrors for us ladies!), so tastefully decorated & a huge clean bathroom with gorgeous fittings. Loved everything about it - and I stay in LOTS of hotels!

Absolutely lovely

The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed was amongst the most comfortable I have slept in. The breakfast was lovely, as was the dinner the night before. Nice staff members. The village, with its old church, is atmospheric and close to Exeter.

I really appreciated the furnishing and decor here I can tell hours upon hours were spent sourcing high end products to suit the look. The lighting is amazing. One of the comfiest beds ive slept on from all the various hotels ive stayed at around the world Breakfast was great and staff were freindly and accomidating. Fantastic stay here if not a little to short.

Everything was great from the moment we arrived! Staff were super helpful and welcoming. Dinner was fantastic with great selection of wines. Breakfast was again freshly cooked and lots of choice. Enjoyed the whole experience.

The Ley Arms is a little gem and we are so glad we found it. Staff were so helpful and the rooms/ our stay charming and even better than the photos. We also had dinner in the pub and had one of the best meals we have had in ages all cooked with local ingredients.

Can't think of anything we did not like. Even the weather was kind to us.

Beautiful hotel, best room I have possibly ever stayed in for functionality and design

The hotel was absolutely stunning. The attention to detail in the decor and the style of the main areas was amazing. The room itself was fantastic. Everything you could ask for in a room and more. Gorgeous decoration, beautiful bathroom and the room had everything you could ever need including a proper makeup mirror and a great coffee machine. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were all super friendly, attentive and professional.

The rate we paid for the room was high (I get it it's beautiful and it's supporting a wedding venue) But feel if they included breakfast in the price too then this would make it all just perfect

Absolutely lush!

Absolutely loved our stay here. It’s in a stunning location, very dog friendly and the pub and accommodation was beautifully decorated throughout, clean and so comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast in the pub restaurant which was superb! The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Thank you, me and my husband (and Ted the Labrador) will definitely be coming back!

Room was beautiful. Nice thoughtful touches with real milk in the fridge, light up mirrors, good room lighting. Comfortable bed that was nice and large. Very clean and all fixtures and fittings were good quality. Room nice and quiet.

The room was very hot (in August). Some lighter alternative bedding would have been helpful. There was a large fan provided but it sounded like an aircraft taking off when running, so not very conducive to sleep!

The luscious Leys Arms

A tastefully decorated room, rich warm opulence which complimented the settings.

No a/c, but we are in the middle of a heatwave. Had a high powered fan which made it bearable. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Beautiful thatched property but very modern and quirky inside. Restaurant and pub garden were gorgeous, large selection of delicious food and drink. Stayed in a deluxe room overnight, room stunning and so clean and modern. Loved the homemade biscuits with a fresh bottle of milk in the individual tiny fridge. Bed luxurious and so comfy, lovely matching decor and fan, nice selection of coffee tea and hot chocolate. The bathroom was so modern and clean with beautiful lighting and light sensor, lovely large shower and gorgeous smelling shower / hand wash and lotions and a fresh dressing gown smelling of washing detergent. Loved our stay and would certainly recommend.

Perfect spot for a relaxing sleepover while exploring

The Lay Arms is a beautiful pub with a handful of hotel rooms which are in a separate adjacent building to the pub itself. The rooms are really nicely decorated with great bathrooms. We went together with another family and both rooms were great. Super clean, well equipped (coffee machine, kettle, TV, electric blinds and open/close mechanic for skylights, and fan). We were staying over because we had a friends birthday bbq nearby and it was perfect. There were plenty of breakfast choices and the food we had was lovely. The staff were so kind and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again!

Every need was met to a very high standard making our stay relaxing, peaceful and fulfilling.

From booking to arriving to leaving our stay at The Ley Arms met every expectation. We were really impressed with the standard of accommodation, facilities and food too. The staff were always on hand and exceptionally helpful, professional but friendly and relaxed too which is great. Our two dogs were welcomed as much as we were which again made the whole stay relaxing. The food and range of drinks were exceptional too.

Nothing, we liked it all and plan to visit again. The only thing that made our stay a little tainted was the good old British weather giving us 30 degree heat which made the rooms exceptionally hot - but this can not be a criticism of the venue as no one can control the weather.

Amazing stay

Amazing 2 night stay at The Ley Arms. Friendly, happy staff, beautiful designed rooms with lots of attention to detail from a huge comfy bed, kettle with tea, coffee, and milk plus water and bath robes, shampoo & conditioner. Fab shower, resident parking, and the rooms were located outside, so we had our own entrance. The room did get very warm. However, the room came with a modern large fan, very useful. Delicious food in the restaurant and a large terraced garden area at the back. We will definitely return. We visited Dawlish, Paignton, Exmouth, and Sidmouth, all within 20 mins. Thank you 😊
