About this house rental
With hardwood floorboards throughout and original art-deco detailing, our home has unique period character and charm. Windows in every room let in the fresh mountain breeze, plus split-system cooling/heating in the living room provides seasonal comfort. The newly installed wood heater set into the original, rustic open fireplace keeps the house warm and cosy on frosty winter nights, and is perfect for cuddling up with a book or glass of wine.
The two spacious bedrooms include queen beds and art deco built-in robes, plus windows overlooking the lush front garden and surrounding forest.
The modern kitchen features a Beko gas stove and Bosch dishwasher, a large walk-in pantry and beautiful country-style butchers block island bench and dining table.
Stunning, Australian artisan-made stoneware crockery and an extensive range of elegant glassware are provided, including wine glasses and decanter.
A wide range of pots, pans and other cooking utensils and supplies are also provided for your convenience, as well as tea and coffee essentials, and a wicker picnic hamper for taking on day trips.
The gorgeous bathroom has been freshly renovated, with a roomy tub for a relaxing soak, a rain shower head, and a charming, custom-made vanity. A spacious, fully-appointed laundry with washer and dryer, means you have everything you need for a truly self-contained and comfortable stay.
The expansive front veranda overlooks our front garden and surrounding lush mountain ash forest, and has been updated to include a perfectly situated bespoke breakfast or afternoon wine bar. Have dinner outside at the additional large dining table, and enjoy the evening bird calls and sunset views of the mountain, or watch the kids and pets run around and play on the front lawn.
Two outdoor settings are also provided in the backyard, including an elevated loveseat to the rear of the property with stunning views of Mount Donna Buang. Take in the morning sun over coffee, or watch the sunset and then marvel at the incredible night sky and its blanket of stars. A seasonal herb garden is conveniently located just outside the kitchen door, as well as a small vegie patch in the back garden. There is a large covered back porch which can be used for bike storage, and we are just a short minute's bike ride from the iconic Lilydale-Warburton Rail Trail.
Please note:
There is a sloped gravel path from the driveway and a single step into the back of the house, for those with mobility issues.
Children are welcome, however please note that there is no guard in front of the wood heater. A second, single trundle bed can be provided for one of the bedrooms, to allow two children to sleep separately, or for the safety of smaller children - please let us know if you require this when you make your booking.
