L'alivu di porto vecchio - Piscine

The house is beautiful, well equipped and was very clean. Area is remote and very quiet.

This is a Google translation of the email we received before arriving: ' If you notice any problems, malfunctions, or inconveniences in the accommodation..., please inform us within 24 hours of your arrival ... If we don't hear from you within this timeframe, we will assume the accommodation meets your expectations. We take photos after each cleaning! ... draw your attention to the fact that any false, defamatory, or inaccurate comments or reviews that do not reflect the reality of your stay may result in legal action on our part.' First, is it really my job to check if everything is working in the first 24hs? And what if I never tried the toaster? Will I be accused of breaking it because I did not inform them it was not working? This email already put us on tiptoes before entering the house; it wasn't very welcoming at all! We then discovered the clothes rack was broken, informed the owner and this was followed by a debate of who broke it,.. Again not a very pleasant experience. To make things worse all discussions needed to be in French since the owner did not speak a word of English. I speak basic French and that was clearly not really enough to have a proper conversation and avoid misunderstandings. The house is also quite remote and impossible to find with Waze or Google Maps following the address in the booking. It leaves you a few minute' drive away. I called the owner and somehow with my poor French she managed to guide us there. Parking is on the street, not on the property. It's a steep slope in a dead end so you need to be a good driver to manage it. The pool is nice but not heated, we were told the heat pump only works when it's not cold! It's also not private; you share it with a few more flats. The bathtub has a big crack, which the owner is aware about (but did not worn us, and given the reaction to the clothes rack imagine our panic!) The dining table is only 40/45 cm wide! and not very stable.
