La Botigueta de Bellmunt

We stayed for a week - 2 adults and 3 children. Was very hot so it was great to have the AC and the pool. This is a house of two parts. The old stone house and a more modern addition. Two bedrooms in each part, accessed by different staircases. Very rural location. Fantastic view from the pool over countryside. Property had everything we needed for our stay. The murals in nearby Penelles are amazing and well worth a visit.

It was hot - which isn’t the properties fault but due to the glass used in the new part of the house the property had absorbed and retained a lot of heat from being shut up. Unpacking was a sweaty experience. There is no AC on the ground floor of the old stone part of the house. This is a large room and needed to benefit from the AC in other rooms. The AC was effective and felt immediately in the rooms where it was situated but it took 48 hours to feel like the environment was cool throughout the property. And we therefore tended not to use the room without AC which was a shame as it was large and looked very comfortable. The stone staircase in the old part of the house was beautiful but the uneven steps and took a while to get used to. Pool could do with a cover and more regular maintenance. On our arrival there was debris on the bottom of the pool. The owner set off the pool vacuum but this was not particularly effective. We cleaned it out over a couple of days with the nets. By the end of our week the pool water was looking quite cloudy. As a previous reviewer commented the electrics can’t support a house of this size. Our first two evenings the electric tripped 3 times. We eventually learned not to use the AC and kitchen in the new part of the house at the same time and we only had one more occasion where the power tripped during the rest of our stay. Do keep a phone/torch on you at all times as the consumer unit is in the darkest part of the house and there are steps to navigate.

Top locatie, prachtige tuin en mooi onderhouden, groot zwembad, ruim huis met alle voorzieningen. Vriendelijke en behulpzame host. Leuke streek waar zeker voldoende te doen is en voor elk wat wils.

Enkele kleine details die niemand mag afschrikken om deze parel te ontdekken: Het nieuwere deel (slaapkamers) warmde tijdens de avond wat op door de extreme temperaturen buiten maar er waren ventilators voorzien hiervoor. De frigo rook naar vis in het begin van het verblijf na het plaatsen van geurabsorbeerders wat het al wat minder maar nog steeds aanwezig. Elektriciteit niet voorzien op gelijktijdig gebruik van kookplaat, airco, dampkap en oven.
