VALAGRON VILLAS NIKIANA

Lovely sea view, extremely comfortable beds, clean. Good location and quiet. Responsive and friendly staff. Great secure parking and outside space for eating and relaxing. Housekeeping three or four times during a two week stay. Very friendly housekeeper and pool guy. Functional kitchen, comfortable furniture inside and out. A really super villa that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Tiny second bathroom, water supply issues several times and hot water issues also a few times as boiler kept tripping. Unfortunately the villa that has been built directly opposite has a lot of unsightly building rubbish dumped over the wall which is directly in view of the sea view villa. We turned our furniture to look at the other view of the sea which is stunning and kept the curtains closed inside to obscure the rubbish. Obviously this can’t be helped by Valagron but it did make my heart sink when we arrived and saw it. I was glad that I saw the previous person’s review about one of the villas not having a sea view so I chose the right one and I think it would be better if the photos of each villa and view were separated. Some of the plug sockets are a bit loose and there are some wires hanging down outside some of the windows. One of the panes of glass in the balustrade was cracked but not dangerous as laminated. We had to replace the batteries in the air con controls as two of them didn’t work. Having said that if we had asked they would have been sorted without question and quickly. Perhaps they could be checked more regularly and batteries left if required. Would have been nice to have a bit more of an idea as to when housekeeping would be coming so we could plan to be out of their way as they just randomly turned up. I could have asked though so I’m sure they just assumed we were easy. A welcome book of expectations and instructions for us would have been good along with the WiFi code but this was provided along with a lot of recommendations when I asked. The housekeeper seemed to clear our rubbish so we weren’t sure what the expectations were for this. Also no instruction as to how to check out but we used our common sense. The above is picky, it really is a lovely place. The rubbish opposite, which is not anything to do with Valagron, would be the only reason I wouldn’t go back as everything else is small and easily sortable.

The property was beautiful, in a great hillside location, even the partial view villa had a decent view and a fantastic outside space. The villa was spotlessly clean and we had the added bonus of a cleaner twice in 10 days. Even the aircon worked brilliantly. It was a bit further up the hill than the booking.com map suggests, but only about 900m into Nikiana. A few great restaurants on Nikiana harbour and seafront. Our host was really helpful and responsive to the few queries we had. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to visit again soon!
