About this cabin rental
Welcome to our log cabin. This beautiful rustic modern vacation home is tucked away on over 5 acres with sweeping views of Lake Superior. Fully stocked, and within a ten minute drive to the ski resort, we are sure you'll enjoy your stay at our North Shore cabin.
The space
Our cabin is centrally located, with easy driving to many of the north shore's popular attractions. Nordic & Alpine skiing, wineries, hiking, golf and more:
Lutsen Mountains Ski Resort - 10 min drive
Superior National Golf Course - 7 min drive
North Shore Winery - 7 min drive
Tofte: 5 minute drive
Grand Marais - 25 min drive
There are 4 bedrooms - 5 beds and 1 queen sleeper couch which can sleep up to 12 people comfortably.
Bedroom 1 (Main Level): Master with ensuite bathroom and king bed
Bedroom 2: Queen Bed
Bedroom 3: Queen Bed
Bedroom 4: Two Full Beds
Loft Area: Queen Sleeper Couch
We do not have any bunk beds. All our sleeping is single level beds.
Additional spaces include an open concept main living area with vaulted ceilings and a window wall with a gorgeous view, along with a loft area to unwind and watch TV.
The cabin has parking for 4-5 vehicles, WiFi, and in-floor radiant heat in all rooms (zone controlled).
This house is not well suited for parties, and we do not allow parties.
Our kitchen is fully stocked, and includes an instant pot, coffee maker, toaster, air fryer, microwave, blender, and more.
Other things to note
Please note, for the security of our guests and the cabin, we have cameras outside the property monitoring the entrance, side deck, and rear side. There are no cameras inside the home.

A beautiful house with a wonderful view of Lake Superior.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lutsen log cabin chalet in June 2024. We have been wanting to head farther north of Duluth and this cabin worked well for us. We did find plenty of activities to do in the north shore area. There is a wonderful E bike business in Schroeder just a few miles south of the cabin that I . Highly recommend…. friendly staff. The cabin is in a secluded area and has a beautiful backside wraparound deck where you can enjoy the lake views. They also have a outside grill and a sauna (which we did not use as it was summer). The kitchen was very well appointed pans, utensils coffee maker and supplies, air fryer , toaster and glass storage dishes.
The bedrooms, were adequate size with dressers and closets with built in shelving.The soaker tub was nice after outdoor activities. Shampoo, conditioner and soap provided. Washer and dryer on premises.
A eating place to recommend is a place called Lockport, on your way to Lutzen. Looks like a Norman Rockwell painting with a single gas pump outside and inside is a small grocery store. There is also a small dining room but if you have to wait, definitely worth it. We had breakfast and a wonderful menu …sourdough pancakes definite five star….and cinnamon rolls. If you want to support a small restaurant, this is it. Great service and friendly service.

I would recommend this property for quiet tranquil vacation.

We booked this place for a men’s retreat. We were more than surprised by the exorbitant additional fees. It is advertised to sleep like 12 but additional per person fees are incurred if more than 7 people. There isn’t enough silverware or plates for 12 people. There were too few towels as well. There are also quite a few things that have been left unmaintained. There are broken door jams, broken refrigerator pieces and the sauna is not meant for winter use. The house has beautiful views though. If you are looking for a house to stay in the Litsen area, this could be an option if you are comfortable with everything listed above. For this price I would expect much more.
