We also stayed here during our trip to see our son graduate Navy Bootcamp. The house is in a very convenient location that makes getting to the base easy or if you want, go to other places around and just avoid the Chicago traffic all together.
As others have noted, this is a new property for the owner and it’s a very beautiful little house that has a TON of potential! There still needs to a little fix here and there, but the important things are;
PROs:
safe location, AC works great (brrrr), beds are comfortable, no rodents or other bugs (we found the property to be very clean). All TVs have ROKU devices attached. Internet is decently fast. The Fridge is cold, the water is HOT and stays hot (for you long shower folks, like my wife!)
CONs
Two fans have a “tick” sound. If that even bothers you. Some like white noise. The TV in the living room is developing white dots (burn out). None of the Roku devices can actually control TV volume or power (so you have a little old school TV control…. But that’s what kids are for!!!) (you products of the 70’s and 80’s should remember that!! lol)

The silverware were dirty they weren’t clean at all (a fork had a piece of something on it) not clean , as well as the kitchen table and placements.

The property manager was very helpful and I would recommend this rental to my friends and family.

Owner was very nice and easy to contact. Home was not as updated as pictures appeared. It also lacked in cleaning throughout. I would bring extra blankets and pillows as the comforters are just throws.
Definitely not the worst and I know the owner is just getting this one off the ground, so I would stay here again.
Area was nice and quiet. Multiple playgrounds nearby.
