Riverfront Design Loft The space is very spacious, and in 2022 we furnished it just the way we like it. The loft features a sofa area where you can make yourself comfortable. In front of the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, you can enjoy the view from our armchairs. When the weather is nice, however, you’ll probably prefer to sit on the large balcony, which offers shady spots thanks to the huge linden tree and is truly special. If work calls, feel free to use the desk as your loft office. The art supplies invite you to let your creativity run wild. The loft has a large kitchen where you’ll love spending time together. The bathtub is only big enough for one person, but it offers a direct view of the sky…

The 119-square-meter apartment is located on the top floor of the Schleusenhaus on the island in Hamelin, right next to the historic, protected island villa from the Gründerzeit era, offering a magnificent view over the Weser River and the historic old town. The 10-meter-long glass facade, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, creates a spectacular fusion of indoor and outdoor spaces overlooking the Weser. The architectural concept of the Schleusenhaus Loft creates light-filled rooms that flow seamlessly into one another. This open layout is reflected in the many skylights, each of which offers its own unique view of the surroundings.

Living Area
At 40 square meters, the living area is the heart of the apartment and adjoins the kitchen. The sofa set invites you to relax. In the reading nook, you can settle into a comfortable armchair and let your thoughts wander while gazing up at the canopy of the linden tree or out at the river. For your entertainment, a Sonos Bluetooth sound system and a TV with satellite connection are available in the living room of the vacation rental. The living room has been furnished according to a high-quality design concept.

Kitchen
The kitchen in the vacation rental is designed as an open-concept kitchen-dining area and opens directly onto the living area. Here you’ll find everything a cook’s heart desires. Enjoy your morning coffee or tea. The kitchenette features a dishwasher, a large sink, a ceramic cooktop, an exhaust hood, and numerous cabinets and drawers, as well as a refrigerator without a freezer compartment. A small selection of basic supplies, such as flour, sugar, tea, coffee, and oil, is provided.


Bedroom You’ll sleep on a comfortable box-spring bed in the open-concept bedroom. The bedroom opens directly onto the creative space. To ensure your vacation can begin right away, the beds are already made, and two towels per person are provided for you.

Creative Space
The Schleusenhaus Loft is designed to inspire and clear your mind. Discover your creativity and immerse yourself in drawing and painting. We provide a wide range of art supplies and books in our creative boardcase. Give it a try and discover the relaxing flow of the river through your drawings.

Bathroom
In the spacious bathroom of the vacation rental, you’ll find not only a fully glass-enclosed shower but also a large, inviting bathtub. We call it the “Star Bath” because you can relax in the tub beneath the starry sky visible through the skylight. The toilet is equipped with a soft-close system, and there is a sink in the bathroom.
Two towels are provided for each guest.
In addition, the Schleusenhaus Loft offers a separate toilet.

A balcony in the treetops right on the Weser
You’ll love the highlight of the Schleusenhaus Loft. The wooden deck balcony is 10 meters long and offers a spectacular view of the Weser River. You’ll feel like you’re on a ship when you stand at the balcony railing. On the balcony, you’ll find a lounge area and a small breakfast table.
Our linden tree, which is integrated into the balcony, is fantastic. You’ll feel like you’re in a treehouse.

Interior
The Schleusenhaus Loft is located under the highly insulated roof (2021) and features special wall paneling throughout the interior. These are white wood-fiber panels that give the room an interesting geometric structure while also helping to regulate the indoor climate. This is because the wood fibers absorb moisture and then release it back into the environment. As a result, you won’t find the typical indoor climate of an attic apartment in the Schleusenhaus Loft. Furthermore, the panels are highly sound-absorbing, creating a very unique atmosphere even when the windows are open.

Wi-Fi and Internet
Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the entire vacation rental with broadband speeds of up to
