About this house rental
The home is nestled between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains with easy access to Interstate 81 and Route 11. Our beautiful, century-old farmhouse is a relaxing place to get away and create special memories with family and friends. Dogs are welcome. We charge an additional $100.00 pet fee. Bud’s Place has all the peace and quiet of the countryside, while also being located close to historic sites, breweries, wineries and much more. Our large deck is perfect for outdoor lovers and the sun porch is a great indoor space to relax and enjoy the view. Guests are welcome to enjoy our outdoor fire pit during their stay. Bud’s place features four bedrooms, three queens and the fourth has a bunk bed with a twin on the top and a double on the bottom. The home has two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The newly renovated kitchen is fully stocked with dinnerware, glassware, utensils, pots and pans, coffee pot and much more. There are plenty of towels, wash cloths, dish towels and dish cloths. We provide paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags and tissues. Help yourself to one of the many books and there are also games and puzzles along with TVs in the family room, living room and downstairs bedroom. We are only 10 miles from the Lexington Horse Center and 12 miles from VMI and W&L University. Come and stay at Bud's Place and enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine from Rockbridge Vineyards & Brewery and cheese from Mountain View Farm Products.

Bud's Place was a delightful gathering place for our family getaway. It felt a lot like going to Grandma's or Aunt Sue's home. Everything was prepared for our comfort, including the welcome basket of local products. We had a rainy weekend, so we didn't get to enjoy the welcoming front porch or fire pit, but we were comfy and cozy inside. The beds and provided bedding were comfortable, and extra covers were in the closet if needed. The upstairs bathroom shower is challenging for tall people, but that tub was welcoming, and the downstairs shower is roomy and updated. In fact, the kitchen and both bathrooms have updated fixtures and appliances. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we wanted. We didn't do any gourmet cooking, but if you wanted to, the necessary equipment seemed to be there.One reason we didn't cook much was Frank's Pizza II. The restaurant is near the I-81 exit to Bud's Place. We stopped in for a late lunch to while away the time until we could check in. The pizza was delicious, and the menu was so tempting that we decided not to shop for dinner groceries. We highly recommend the spaghetti and lasagna. Then . . . . if you like banana pudding, do not fail to order it for dessert - or take it out, as we did. The portions are huge, and it is DELICIOUS. We discovered cupboards full of games and books that kept us entertained through the rainy hours. From Rook to Monopoly and books galore with a "take it home if you haven't finished it" status. Very nice house that was easily accessible. They were amazing hosts and even provided us with local wine and cheese made from the farm just down the road.
