Mirador Oceanic Observatory

The location and the view from the accommodation are perfect. It’s easy to get pretty much anywhere in the northern part of the island from there. Communication with the host was very easy and straightforward. It was also easy to find parking on the street nearby. The area was quiet, so we were able to relax and sleep well without any issues.

A few things could definitely be improved. There is no hairdryer in the room, which was quite inconvenient. The towels were not changed during our entire stay. We were given one small towel and two large towels. They were clean when we arrived, but already had a slightly musty smell, which became really unpleasant after a couple of days, as they simply couldn’t dry properly because of the humidity of the area. We were also asked to take the rubbish out ourselves “as a consideration for the cleaning team” (we only had a few empty water bottles as rubbish, but still...). Apparently, guests are expected to help with the cleaning duties too.

Check-in went smoothly, the apartment building and its surroundings were perfectly maintained, the neighbourhood was clean and safe. The apartment itself was perfectly cleaned, in good shape and we enjoyed fine evenings/nights there. The view from the balcony is breathtaking, it was a pure joy to wake up & go to bed with that. We felt like we could reach the host (probably agency) that was responsive. Overall we would recommend it.

The only slightly negative side would be the "comfort" issues. First of all the bed that is way too hard, that was a big issue for us. That could be a personal preference issue or a local habit? Then there's the early morning garbage trucks passing by the room window sometimes very early, that's just how it is, nothing you can do about it. Finally, there are some small issues with the kitchen (freezer doesnt close properly and some utensils missing to be able to cook properly (kitchen knives, a peeler, bigger coffee maker or a Nespresso that goes faster, trays for ice cubes, etc). Maybe also provide a ventilator it gets hot there. To be clear: All those things are not alarming but still seem to be easy fixes to improve the quality of stay.

Das Apartment hat einen schönen Blick und im Wohn- und Schlafbereich eine gepflegte, moderne Ausstattung. Beste Matratze und Kopfkissen ever und endlich eine richtige Bettdecke … Danke!

Die Ausstattung der Küche ist sehr „puristisch“ und der Vermieter fordert eine gewisse Cleverness von seinen Mietern … Tipps: Das Wifi-Passwort findet man auf der Unterseite des Routers unter „Clave“. Boiler in der Küche muss unbedingt gleich eingeschaltet werden, sonst gibt es eine Überraschung unter der Dusche. Der Lichtschalter für die Küche ist im Schlafraum!
