Highbury

Know Rothbury very well but unaware of these properties. Nice location. Easy walk to town. Nice views. Lovely and warm. Said detached in listing ,but a semi. Made no difference as we are older and quiet people.

Would have a fridge freezer in utility. We are foodies and could have done with the extra fridge room for the vast amount of food we took.

Beautiful property both inside and out, with an amazing view. Spacious and comfortable. Great location, close to the main street of Rothbury. Had almost everything we could need, and a lovely Victoria sponge cake to welcome us.

There was some confusion with getting the keys. Some info said a key safe and others said they were at a reception. It was a key safe but both the owner and my contact at booking.com expected the other to provide the code. We got it from the owner easy enough. Also the house was a little cold for me but I am a very cold person, the others were fine, so just something to keep in mind if you are like me, and bring warm clothes. There are blankets in the living room and there is heating. Also the room upstairs, being in the roof, is not ideal for tall people with the slanted roof so the downstairs rooms may suit you better. These are very minor things that did not stop us enjoying our stay and they definitely won’t affect most people but just something to be aware of.
