This is a grande dame which is a bit run down. But the staff were very pleasant and our meals were good. The building and surrounds are lovely. I would highly recommend staying here. Our room was large and luxurious.
The property needs some maintenance and is a bit out of the way, but that did not deter us. It was the perfect place to stay after stage 9 of the Peekoe trail.

Beautiful property in the middle of tea gardens! Perfect one night stay during my Pekoe Trail hike. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Stunning walks around the property are a major plus! So beautiful.
A bit set back from the town so have to tuk tuk there.

The bungalow and the staff! Always helpful and attentive, Padmaraj and his team were always making sure we had everything we needed, but also made sure we felt we had the place to ourselves. The bungalow itself was very charming - very quiet and peaceful.
The location was convenient too - a bit removed from both Hatton and Nuwara Eliya (about one hour in either direction), it was exactly what we were looking for; far away enough to feel properly disconnected, close enough to visit Nuwara Eliya when we wanted something more.
The small hiking trail around the property was perfect! Not too difficult and it led to some amazing viewpoints.
Rooms could have used in-room coffee/tea maker. Some of the double beds in some of the rooms were on the smaller side.

Iona Bungalow offered a truly peaceful and scenic retreat, surrounded by lush greenery and stunning views of the Hatton hills and tea estates. The interior was tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean, with a cozy, homely feel. The staff were friendly, courteous, and always ready to help, making the entire stay comfortable and welcoming. The food, especially the local Sri Lankan dishes, was freshly prepared and full of flavor definitely a highlight.
The access road to the property could use some improvement, as it was a bit rough and difficult to navigate, particularly in wet weather.
