Hibou's House

Great place in a nice neighbourhood. Spent two weeks there and enjoyed it. The owner is nice and it was possible to approach him with any concerns or wishes I had, be it transfer from and to the airport or the need for a single envelope for a letter. He organized everything with a joyful attitude. I felt very welcome. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. I appreciated having a fridge and bowls, plates and cutlery. There is a small cooking station as well but I never used it. The Beamer above the bed and the Netflix access were very nice as well.

I was very impressed with the host of Hibou's House, he was very kind, friendly and truly helpful. Hibou went out of his way to make sure his guest is comfortable and feels at home, he's also very responsive when guest texted him for help. The property interior is cool, my room looks exactly like the pictures, clean and well maintained. There are lots of options for food and cafe to hang out or work nearby, Hibou sent me a long list of recommended places to try and everything was great. Overall I had great time in Hibou's House and will be back if someday I travel to Hanoi again :)

Check-in was easy, communication was great and the accommodation had everything I needed for 15 nights. This is a great self-contained studio apartment in a nice little area of Hanoi with lots of lovely local cafés - my favourite being 101 Cafe, which was located in a quieter alley. As a vegetarian it was a bit harder to find places to eat nearby, however, there is a fantastic vegan restaurant called Tỉnh Thức Chay about 10 minutes walk away and another called Wabi Sabi Vegetarian & Tea about 15 minutes walk. Akiba Curry, just around the corner from the accommodation, also had a vegetarian option. From a bus stop on one of the main roads, Đ. Nguyễn Chí Thanh, you can take the E07 bus, which stops close to all the main historic sights in Hanoi and also loops around the southern end eastern edges of the Old Quarter.

The light above the fridge/cooking area was a little bit bit dull, which made this area of the accommodation quite dark. Also the bath could have been cleaner. The duvet on the bed when I arrived was too thick and heavy for me, but fortunately there was a lighter thinner one in the wardrobe so I was able to change this myself (so perhaps this as a positive point...)

Nous avons adorés le quartier. La décoration de l’appartement est très chaleureuse, le petit balcon est top. Nous avons eu l’occasion de rencontrer le propriétaire qui nous a apporté un petit sapin de Noël pour qu’on puisse fêter Noël dans l’appartement. Il était adorable et aux petits soins.

La cuisine n’est pas vraiment pratique, juste pour dépanner un soir ou deux mais pas pour cuisiner tous les jours selon moi. Mauvaises odeurs dans le hall.
