Great location - plenty of space.

No AC and the showers were all awkward and the water was tricky (ie the hot was Inconsistent)

This is a spacious house, right at the heart of Vila Nova, 1 minute from the heart of this great small town and 7 mins walk to the nearest beach, 10 mins to the better beach. The street it is on is surprisingly quiet, at the front, due to car access only for residents. Many pedestrians pass by. It is mostly well equpped - just small issues, e.g. too few glasses and cups, no kettle, no hairdryer. But lots of everything else. The "Stay in Alentejo" agency were excellent - very responsive, bringing us fans for the hot nights on request.

This is no fault of the owners of the property, of course, but all the terraces face west/north west, which means they are directly downwind of a fairground which was very noisy every night from 8pm until midnight, and then the SudWest nightclub could be heard, less loudly but still audible, from midnight until 6am. If you prefer a quieter more relaxing terrace, be aware of this! Also the hot water system is a bit underpowered for the size of the house - it is fine if only one shower is operating; but if more than one at once, it tended to run hot then cold.
