About this house rental
Welcome to the Hawaiian Wildlife Habitat Eco Village, which is part of the responsible tourism effort to take care of the Aina (Mother Nature in Hawaiian).
As part of our commitment to protect Hawaii and to be clear of fossil fuels, all the electricity to the village is produce by 36 solar panels of 400 watts each. This electricity is use to turn on all lights, hybrid water heater, refrigerators, stoves, and all the machines that are need to work at the village.
In addition the rain provides all the water that is needed at the village for taking showers and to drink after passing to a 3 filters' system including a UV filter.
More over, all the waste water from the bathrooms go to an engineered septic system to avoid earth pollution. All the products that are used at the village are biodegradable including soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and clothes and dish detergents.
We offer an individual detached self contained bedroom (hexagon) with full bathroom and a kitchenette.
To start your day at the village, enjoy a breath taking sunrise from the ocean while been entertained by the view of our young future forest.
Be amazed by knowing that the heat from your hot shower comes from the sun energy and the rain is the provider of water for all the bungalows.
Feel the aroma of the fruit trees surrounding your bungalow while resting in one of our hand made hummocks..
Enjoy the presence of many native birds playing, eating and nesting in our more than a thousand already planted young trees.
All of our trees, shrubs and flowers are free of pesticides and herbicides, so feel free to enjoy them as much as you can.
If you want to be more adventurous, take a walk to admire the view of the Volcano Mauna Kea while visiting a beautiful water fall or take a pick of a cacao farm where they can show you how to make chocolate. And again. all of these activities are at walking distance from the village.
Take a 15 minutes drive to Hilo and jump in the water for a fabulous snorkeling at a black sand beach or walk around to enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants that are available.
In this busy world of ours, we want to invite you to get refuged in 20 acres of land that are dedicated to preserve and honor Mother Nature. By making this Eco Village your home for a little while, you will contribute to our sustainable efforts of forest restoration and preservation while visiting Hawaii in a sustainable and fabulous way. This place is a great - hosts are amazing people. They are intelligent, passionate, flexible, and friendly.
Sunsrise view is great. Incredibly safe environment. You really feel like you have a degree of quiet separation from the bustle of Hilo that is only a short drive away. So best of both worlds.
The tradeoff is that the village access does require a short drive on unpaved roads. So prepare mentally that this is a slightly more secluded location.
You get a simple but thoughtfully decorated and serene space that is in the middle of beautiful plants and fruit trees and next to wonderful farm animals (goats and chickens).
Advice: bring a small fan if possible, in case it is during a hot season.

We had an incredible stay at Eco Village, and would highly recommend it! The bungalow rooms are thoughtfully designed and comfortable, and you can't beat the beautiful mountain view of the farm and the ocean below. The hosts, Mauricio and Paola, are absolutely delightful sharing some fresh bananas and cherries from their fruit trees and telling all about their gorgeous sustainable property.

✨✨✨An absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end. The hostess was incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming — the kind of person who makes everyone feel instantly comfortable and appreciated. Every detail was beautifully thought out, creating such a lovely and memorable atmosphere.
