Mushroom Cottage

Cozy and really comfortable. Well equipped. Beautiful location. Ideal for exploring Rutland Water and surrounding areas. Great communication ahead of our arrival - really helpful.

Nothing. We loved it.

The furnishings were luxurious and immaculately clean. The cottage was more spacious than expected. The animals outside added a little something special to our stay. It was cold outside but wonderfully toasty inside the property. The heating was easy to control and very responsive. The showers were large and the water pressure was a joy. We all slept like babies in the comfortable beds. The well-equipped kitchen felt like home from home. And the welcome hamper was an unexpected, generous touch. We forgot to sign the visitors book, but we would have left a message of gratitude had we remembered.

The only thing I would have liked was a more thorough clean of the floors before we arrived and something to clean the floors with throughout our stay. It might also be time to change the towels, as the ones we were provided with were clean but stained in places. Neither of those little niggles adversely affected our stay. The positives overwhelmingly outweighed the minor negatives.

We absolutely loved our stay at Mushroom Cottage. It is so well designed and there is everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The interior design is outstanding. In addition, the location is ideal for exploring Rutland Water. After a few minutes walk, you are at the shoreline just down from Normanton Church. I also enjoyed the chicken and ducks that paraded up and down outside. I cannot recommend the property enough. Many thanks to the owners.

The attention to detail is excellent, simple things like a welcome pack. Cooking utensils, garlic crusher and other such things. The location is so quiet and peaceful but also so close to the water and not far from the nearest village. We visited for a weekend in February and despite the frigid temperatures outside and the bucket loads of rain the cottage was super cosy.

There wasnt anything to not like but if I were to be picky I would say place to hang up and put away clothing is limited if you were staying for more than several days.
