Modern Spacious Coastal Villa

Large spacious house. Location close to playground and open parkland. Quite residential area. Close to Supermarket

Host didn’t respond to text message re 2 problems. All poor reviews in the past had not been addressed ie broken clothes rack, no outside clothes line and no tumble drier as stated. Had to buy a clothe drying rack as no response from Host. Stick vacuum roller clogged with hair un useable. Another vacuum not working. Mop heads but not pole, no broom. No dishwasher tablets to get you started. No bath mats supplied with towels. One kitchen tea towel to do a 7 day stay. 2 doubles beds have narrow doonas and bearable covered 2 people. Plumbing loud didn’t use showers after kids went to sleep. One windy night sounded like there was a loose sheet of tin on the roof.

The property was big enough for our extended family to stay

One of the nights was a little windy and it sounded like the roof was being blown off. The showers were very noisy. The were heaps of extra pillows and one extra mattress but no linen for them. Only 1 dishwashing tablet & no washing machine tablets. No clothes line and a broken clothes rack. The laundry looked like a dumping ground with the floor filled with boxes broken clothes rack etc and the bench had to vacuum cleaners on it. There was a whole lot of out of date food in the pantry. (Very out of date)

Location was good, Spacious house enough room for my family. Needs more attention to detail as I have mentioned below.

I wasn't going to do a review as I made a list privately to the host so things could be improved, But, I noted many of the things I mentioned were listed before, so I decided to do a review in the hope for change. Bathrooms were not 100% clean, no bath mats or hand towels in bathrooms either. Bed sheets were dirty, No tea towels in kitchen, only 6 bowls, 7 saucers, 9 plates in house. Not enough forks, we had to use disposable plates and cups many times. Not enough microwave safe containers in the house to warm up food and for food storage. Kitchen cabinets were a mess as were bedroom wardrobes. Only one bin in entire house, nothing in bathrooms or toilet. BBQ was dirty and very small for a large group of people. Cordless vacuum not working properly as brush head clogged with hair. One kitchen stool is broken, Need small step ladder to reach top shelves in kitchen. No instructions in house on how to use oven, washing machine or fire place. Fake plants throughout house are full of dust. It doesn't take much to fix all of the above items to make ones stay more enjoyable. I would consider these basic fixes. A simple checklist would make sure all items are in the house, I would think all that I have mentioned are a bare minimum requirement for any rental.
