This review comes a little late, but our stay at 88 Nuwara Eliya remains one of our fondest memories of Sri Lanka.
We arrived late at night after booking through Agoda, and the front desk staff member, Kapilankavi, recognised us immediately. Seeing that I was travelling with a child, he kindly upgraded us to a room with two beds and a wonderful view. It was such a thoughtful gesture and set the tone for an excellent stay. The hotel was already one of the best-value places we stayed at in Sri Lanka, but Kapilankavi’s exceptional hospitality made it truly stand out.
His kindness didn't stop at check-in. He helped us arrange our trip to Horton Plains the following day and stored our luggage when we left in the early hours of the morning. When we returned from the national park, he once again went out of his way to make us comfortable. He helped us settle in at the lobby restaurant, showed us where the washrooms were, offered us drinking water, and even took care of a bag of rubbish we had brought back from the park.
These might seem like small things, but they made a real difference. Kapilankavi consistently went above and beyond what was expected of him, showing a level of genuine warmth and thoughtfulness that is all too easy to take for granted. His service reminded us that the best travel experiences are often shaped not just by the places we visit, but by the people we meet along the way.
88 Nuwara Eliya remains one of the hotels that left the deepest impression on us during our trip to Sri Lanka. We are especially grateful to Kapilankavi for helping make our stay so memorable. If we return to Nuwara Eliya, we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at 88th. We loved the duplex property and Uditha provided the greatest service to make our stay comfortable.
The view is fab, close distance to the town and overall the place is fantastic.

Had a really lovely stay. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout. Everyone was warm and sweet, which made the experience even better. The breakfast was good too — fresh and enjoyable. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend.
