The steep, winding streets of the old town are home to well-preserved historic palaces, art galleries and ateliers. Various jazz and classical music festivals take place in the summer months. As the town is situated on a hill, it has a charming view of the old town on the beach - Rabac. Rabac used to be an old fishing village, today it offers beautiful beaches and many restaurants.
