Over the Top

The location across the street from the ocean was perfect! Viewing the ocean from any of the three balcony's was so amazing! I could have sat out there forever! The elevator really came in handy for us older folk. We had a party of 10 adults and still had room left over. Everyone enjoyed their rooms; very comfortable. The place is beautiful! Easy access, safe area, good customer service and anything you need was close by. The pool was nice, and although it wasn't a Jacuzzi as we thought, the overflow pool was nice. My mother celebrated her 70th birthday with our family and we had a very memorable time at this house. She says, "Thank you very much!" 🎂🎊🎉 🎁🎈💛 She also says, "Shout out to the city of Destin! It's a beautiful city, and I'll be back!" Praying everyone is safe during the storm. 🙏🏾💛

Although this house is beautiful and very efficient, it could use a little updating. Just a little. I'm not complaining, but the shower in the master suite was really complicated. Could use some updating in there. Everyone was disappointed that what we thought was a Jacuzzi ended up being an overflow. Both grills need to be replaced. None of these things kept us from having a very memorable experience. And for the right price we would come back!!!

Stayed here last year and there were many maintenance items needed. This year we saw some maintenance items were repaired.

The dishwasher in the bar area downstairs last year leaked. This year it was gone. They never replaced it, it was simply removed. The extra large refrigerator downstairs we very much liked last year and stated that in our review last year. This year it was gone! The dishwasher in the kitchen this year leaked and fortunately it was replaced. The pool had multiple problems this year which we reported. The pool guy came out and fixed the problem, but in the last day of our stay the pool had problems again.

The place is nice and big. We had 20 people and it did not feel crowded. Having the bar and pool table downstairs, plus the extra refrigerator next to the bar worked well. There is a building across the street the blocks much of the ocean view, but you can still see the ocean. The best view is on the 3rd floor. It’s a very short golf cart ride to the public beach area in front of the crab shack. The golf cart is an extra charge.

This place had and still had when we left, many maintenance problems. The gas stove top didn’t work. The management company was quick to replace it, but created a gas leak in the process. This literally could have killed us. Some members of my family got sick. Ultimately, the gas company came out late at night and fixed the problem. The front bedroom, used to be a garage, would never cool below 85 degrees. The management company installed a one room AC unit with a vented exhaust out the window. The other lower bedroom bathroom had a really bad smell. The drywall in the bathroom was deteriorated due to a water leak at some point. This was never fixed, but putting bleach down the shower drain helped eliminate the smell. The master bedroom shower has a missing tile and you can not regulate the water temperature. The sliding glass doors close at the top but the is a 1/4 inch open gap at the bottom. In the room with multiple beds, there was a hole in the drywall. The carpet in the master bedroom needed to be cleaned. The dishwasher downstairs in the bar, leaked water all over the floor. Pretty sure a replacement dishwasher was ordered, but not in time for us to use it. The main refrigerator in the kitchen does not dispense water. The staircase has a cracked tile. A window in the front was cracked. The pool waterfall structure is cracked on both sides. The refrigerator on the patio, third level, didn’t work when we arrived. It was replaced.
