The Perfect Lapland Winter Escape

This cabin was honestly amazing. It’s right in the middle of the Finnish forest, looking out over a frozen lake, and it’s so quiet and peaceful. Inside was perfect for the cold, it had a double bed, plenty of heating, and the sauna was ideal after being outside in the freezing temperatures. Henri and Ellinoora were genuinely brilliant hosts. They picked us up and dropped us off anywhere we needed for a small fee, which saved us loads on taxis. They helped us set up the fire and even gave us marshmallows, beers and sledges to use. They were just really lovely people. Best cabin I’ve ever stayed in, best place I’ve ever visited, and I’ll definitely be back.

A fantastic experience

The owners of the cabin were so accommodating. A very simple way of living but it was so cosy! In the beautiful snowy forest. It was like being surrounded by a winter wonderland. The sauna was amazing and the fire place was also so lovely. Perfect for the cold weather we experienced. The cabin was very warm for 2 days once heated. We saw the most amazing northern lights over the lake. It’s a small super comfy cabin. Only half hour away from the city. I would book again.

No running water but it’s okay. Once you get used to it it’s not so bad.

Perfect pitstop with nice view of auroras

Cozy little trailer with the needed amenities. It was nice to make a fire and barbecue some sausages while watching the northern lights in the yard. Sauna topped of the night.

Photos are deceiving, we expected more.

Location is amazing. Firewood provided. Sauna is included.

Online photos are very deceiving, the property is very VERY small, and the shower is on the outside of the living room area inside the sauna. So you have to go outside every time if you want to shower, the shower is also a handheld head, not even fixed to the wall. You also have to pump the toilet for water - very primitive. All cutlery is paper based and the cups are very small. The property has huge potential but needs some upgrades.

Perfect, perfect, perfect!

This lodge made our trip even more perfect. We stayed for a week! The hosts are so nice, and were always available if we needed something. The lodge is well equipped for cooking, the bed is great, and the view is amazing. It’s far from the city so you have nature around and it’s calm, but still you can easily catch the bus to go to the city. We did sauna everyday, we walked around the lodge in the middle of nature, we even saw some rabbits and squirrels from our window. We could see auroras from our bed! Everything was perfect, and I would recommend this place 1000%!

We loved it!

We booked Aurora Lodge Tuohi on very short notice but it was no problem for the hosts. Ellinoora and Henri are amazing, they made us feel super welcome and even picked us up from the train station in their Tesla and took us to the airport the next day (I wanted to give them a big hug but I didn’t want them to think I was weird lol). The cabin was so cosy and comfortable with wonderful scenic views. We were even lucky enough to see the aurora! Our favourite part was the woodfire place and the traditional woodfire sauna. Though it was brief, our stay was the perfect end to our week-long trip in Finland. We would happily stay again.

One small thing is the guests in the neighbouring cabin had their outdoor lights on while we were trying to see the aurora at night but the hosts helped us to communicate with them and turn the lights off so we could see the night sky properly.

Amazing hosts with a really nice little private getaway house.

On arrival we were welcomed by the really friendly owners, who showed us everything needed for a comfortable stay. Even helped us with making fire in the sauna. Kitchen well equiped if you want to cook. Property is in a quiet and private location, great for a relaxing weekend.

Wir fanden es toll und würden es wieder buchen.

Die Gastgeber (Ellinoora & Henri) sind sehr nett, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Aufgekommene Fragen wurden im Vorfeld sofort beantwortet und ein Transport zur und von der Unterkunft haben sie für einen Aufpreis organisiert. Die Unterkunft ist süß, ruhig, sauber und liegt in einer umwerfenden Gegend, welche mit einer Chance auf Polarlichter aufwartet. In der Unterkunft ist alles vorhanden, was man benötigt, eine Feuerstelle ist vorhanden, eine Sauna, ein Kamin - wenn auch alles etwas klein und beengt für 2 Personen. Aber es war genau dieses "Private", wonach wir gesucht hatten und haben nichts Negatives zu berichten. Erst recht nicht, nachdem wir 2 Nächte ein Spektakel am Nachthimmel erleben durften.

"Nicht gefallen" ist zu hart - aber leider hat dieser süße Unterkunft natürlich nur eine Camping-Toilette. Für den Komfort für Frauen wäre ein echtes Wasserkloset von Vorteil, auch wenn dies dort konstruktionsbedingt nicht möglich ist. Dies sollte man jedoch vor der Buchung wissen.

Un’esperienza unica, genuina, che ti resta nel cuore e che i due gestori ti consentono di vivere da protagonista.

I due gestori (Henry ed Ellinoora) sempre disponibili e garbati. La posizione del bungalow letteralmente a picco su un immenso fiume ghiacciato, immerso nella taiga lappone, ma vicino ad altre case cui si accede attraverso sentieri da fiaba. A disposizione una sauna privata alimentata con legno di betulla che i gestori mettono a disposizione così come per gli altri due focolari, uno esterno attraverso il quale si può cucinare alla griglia ed uno interno (stufa) che contribuisce, se si vuole, a riscaldare l’alloggio. Una vera esperienza di vita locale, per chi apprezza questo tipo di soluzione.

Il bagno un pochino sacrificato per i canoni italiani (ovviamente manca il bidet).

Très bien situé, un lieu magnifique et très dépaysant ! Très bien chauffé entre le poêle, le chauffage et plancher chauffant et literie confortable.

Proximité avec l' autre cabane dommage alors que personne autour; Installation précaire si on veut cuisiner.

Komfortní tiny house uprostřed lesů

Velmi útulný (a velmi malý) apartmán - tiny house. Komunikace s pronajímateli byla od prvního momentu naprosto perfektní prostřednictvím zpráv v Booking aplikaci, odpověděli na všechny otázky, zejména dobře poradili ohledně cesty k domku - v navigacích se totiž zobrazuje chybně. Cesta byla velmi dobře označena, s ničím nakonec nebyl problém. Domeček je maličký, jako pro panenky, ale pro dva lidi je tam místa dost. Vybavení je jako v karavanu - kazetové WC a mini kuchyňka s varnou konvicí a indukčním vařičem. Vše čisté a účelně zařízené, postel pohodlná, měkčí matrace se dvěma různými polštáři. V obývacím prostoru je bezproblémové elektrické vytápění a krb, pokud by se někdo chtěl dívat do plamenů. Byl pro nás připraven výběr různých dobrot, instantní káva a čajové sáčky. Sauna s kamny na dřevo je perfektní, k dispozici byl dostatek připravených polínek pro každodenní saunování. Prostředí lesa, který chatku obklopuje, je kouzelné. Noční výhled na polární záři nezapomenutelný. Celkově opravdu úžasný pobyt, kde jsme si dokonale odpočinuli. Velmi ráda toto ubytování doporučuji.

Je nutné stále mít pod dohledem klíč od vchodu, pokud si zabouchnete dveře, nepůjdou otevřít. V domku jsou ohledně toho upozornění a také nám to připomněla ubytovatelka. Řešili jsme to tak, že při saunování nebo chození kolem domku jsme klíč nechávali zastrčený zvenku v zámku. Toto není problém, jen něco, na co si dát případně pozor.

Sehr gute Ausstattung, trotz wenigem Platz ist alles mehr als vorhanden. Lage exzellent, um die Natur zu genießen und die Polarlichter zu beobachten. Die Sauna war sehr authentisch.

Eigentlich gar nichts negatives. Die Toilette ist Camping-Style, jedoch sehr sauber und ausreichend. Nach 2 Tagen musste sie entleert werden, dafür kam Henri und kümmerte sich darum.

Caseta apartada amb vistes espectaculars. Es molt comode i acollidora. El host va ser molt amable. Nosaltres no vam tenir sort amb el temps perque estava molt nublat, però es un molt bon lloc per veure les auroras. Ho recomanem 100%.

Super Aufenthalt, alles war einfach perfekt. Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt, absolut empfehlenswert. Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit, jederzeit wieder! Herzliche Gastfreundschaft und eine tolle Atmosphäre. Toller Ort um die Nordlichter Perfekt zu sehen.

Excellent cabin with sauna

Location bellissima, è una cabina (piccola ma con ogni comfort), sauna a legna davvero comoda e bella, si può anche uscire sulla neve dopo la sauna perché ci sono solo 2 cabine e poi un enorme lago ghiacciato. Non abbiamo visto l'aurora perché è calata la nebbia ma la location sì presta sicuramente. Caminetto comodissimo, si accende subito. Il bagno è essenziale, la doccia è in sauna ma comoda. L'host è stato gentilissimo, ci ha aggiunto un microonde su richiesta per cucinare essendo capodanno. Ma la cucina è ben fornita di tutto. Offrono anche un servizio di Transfer (stesso prezzo di Uber) con un 9 posti per cui molto comodo.

Una delle due cabina non ha la sauna in camera ma è la porta accanto, però questo rende la sauna più efficace perché c'è il contrasto freddo/caldo.

Espectacular !!! Los anfitriones muy atentos en todo momento. Impecable el lugar , silencioso, agradable. .. todo lo que pueda decir se queda corto !!!! El alrededor todo de los árboles nevados increíble … lago enfrente en nuestro caso estaba nevado y estaba espectacular !! Vimos desde la cama las auroras boreales y el cielo estrellado !!!! Totalmente recomendable , experiencia única

Emplacement calme et retiré, devant un lac. De quoi faire un feu en extérieur et un sauna en intérieur. Logement bien chauffé.
