Personal attention or owners and staff. Very well kept property with golden era artifacts and decor gave us a feeling of living at a princely estate. Food was delicious. We ordered Rajasthani delicacies.

The "tasty" things: 1) The location: Very close to the railway station and walking distance from the center of town. 2) The environment: The home of the Former Army Colonel is converted into a home stay in a nice way with a good taste and the effort is apparent both in outside and inside parts of the property which is constructed as per Rajasthani architecture. 3) Our room was of good size and comfortable, the bathroomwas really big and clean, again tastefully done up. 4) Breakfast and dinner were served in a dinning hall that was nicely decorated by the owner couple. 5) The owner, Colonel Singh was hospitable and greeted us with a smile when we arrived. If there weren't the negative comments I made below, I would have rated it a 10/10.

The "sour" things: 1) The landlady could have been more hospitable and forthcoming. During our stay there we never saw a faint smile at her face. 2) The breakfast, though functional, was basic, couldn't call it a buffet, we had to order specific items out of the short list and quantity that was tightly controlled by the landlady. 3) At our arrival, we made clear to the owner that due to our work from distance, we wouldn't be able to have dinner before 9 p.m. and asked whether they would have enough time to prepare it for us (dinner is served until 10 p.m.). He assured us that this would be no problem at all. To our unpleasant surprise we found out that our only choice was plain rice (which was the only food warm enough and in quantity) and the - practically - cold leftovers of the other guests who had dinned already. It was made clear by the landlady that there was no other choice and we would have to settle with this. 4) To top up the bad dinner experience, we were asked to pay (plus taxes) 600 Rs for a cold vegetables curry vegetarian dish, 800 Rs for a non-veg chicken curry dish (with literally 3 small full-of-bones-and-little-meat pieces of chicken) and 600 Rs per beer... which was a really ridiculously expensive dinner for what it really was.

The vila gives an outstanding vibe of traditional rajasthani culture. The rooms are spacious, neat and clean. Washroom was the best I've ever been into. There are touch of tradition and arts even in washroom also.

We visited during summer season and were allotted a room on the top floor. The room was exreemely hot even after running the AC for the entire stay it hardly cool the room. They could have given us ground floor rooms which were empty at that time. Also I asked for one big bed while booking but were given twim beds.

Owner is rude. Not recommended.
