El Pueblo Mérida

From early AM latte, healthy and delicious breakfasts and gorgeously prepared lunches the food was as perfect as the rooms and landscaping.

Though centrally located and close to the areas of interest and the corridorio gastronomico with its numerous restaurants, El Pueblo is a haven of peace. The property is delightful, with a lap pool, and lovely garden with birds chirping, verandas with hammocks, and exquisite artwork. Lean, elegant, uncluttered, truly relaxing. All express the sophisticated taste and sense of detail of the owner, Colin. My room was clean, roomy, tasteful, comfortable, well thought with drawers and closets. Excellent bathroom with powerful shower. Colin was present in the morning at breakfast, and him, and his kind and efficient English speaking team, have been very helpful directing us to excursions, guides, restaurants and massages. Last but not least, the fantastic pastry delivery daily at 11am!

We felt very private and well taken care of at El Pueblo. Breakfasts are deliciously prepared by Antonio. The rooms are very spacious and well designed. The landscaping and the plants are beautiful. The lap pool is very refreshing. In summary el Pueblo is a gem with the perfect location only steps away from the restaurant row👌

El Pueblo is unique — never seen any place like it. It is cozy (only six rooms) yet extremely spacious — expansive rooms, high ceilings, large common areas. It is not exactly a “boutique hotel” nor is it a mere B&B. El Pueblo is more like a grand art gallery in a palatial setting conveniently nestled in the heart of Old Mérida! Throughout the uncluttered halls and rooms you’ll see a brilliantly curated collection of paintings, sculptures and photographs, often by well-known Mexican artists. In the morning you’ll love Antonio’s delicious Mexican breakfast options. Then, stroll around the nearby plazas, remarkable museums, and art galleries. Perhaps return to El Pueblo for a refreshing swim, a nap in a hammock, or both. In the evening, you’ll only be a block from an array of superb restaurants. Everyone who talks about El Pueblo usually mentions the warmth of the owner, staff, and fellow guests. I agree 100%! And you'll want to return.
