Kavousi Cottages, Genieten en Ontspannen in een Traditioneel Levendig Dorp

Cottage O Stavlos was completely renovated in 2023 with the help of exclusively Cretan artisans. Local traditional materials were used, respecting the traditional architectural style without compromising on comfort.

O Stavlos consists of two separate buildings, each approximately 24 m². They are connected via the terrace at the back. The former stable now houses the living room and the fully equipped kitchen. The old tree trunks that until recently formed the ceiling have been partially preserved. The former living area now houses the bedroom, with a double bed, and the bathroom, featuring a delightful rain shower.
Both rooms have inverter air conditioning to cool or heat the space.

At the front of the apartment is a spacious terrace where you can sit in the shade for most of the day. Would you rather enjoy the sunshine? You can do so on the back terrace, which overlooks the Thripti Mountains. Would you rather look out at the sea? Then head over to a comfortable lounge chair on the rooftop terrace.

Kavousi is a perfect base for exploring the eastern part of Crete. Agios Nikólaos, Mochlos, Sitia, Zákros, Ierápetra… They’re all within easy reach. Would you rather stay a bit closer to home? In the immediate vicinity, you can visit various archaeological sites, hike part of the E4 trail, admire one of Crete’s oldest olive trees, or, for example, enjoy a day at the beautiful sandy beach of Tholos, less than 2 kilometers away. In short, there’s something for everyone in this—in our opinion—most beautiful part of Crete.
