Lavender Cottage is a beautiful Cotswold stone cottage ideal for couples, friends and small families wanting to enjoy a typical Cotswold break. Enjoy a cosy wood burner in the spacious living room on chillier evenings, where you can sit and relax in front of a good film. The well-equipped kitchen provides you with everything needed to bring a sumptuous dinner to the dining table, where you can chat about your day’s adventures and discoveries. Upstairs are two lovely bedrooms; a double and a twin, providing a good night’s sleep after a busy day and providing views over the rolling countryside. Outside, you can sip your morning coffee in the sunshine on the outdoor table whilst planning what to do with your day.
The peaceful village of Stretton-on-Fosse is a great base for visiting this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and boasts a village pub where you can meet the locals. There are many beautiful walks from the village and into the countryside. There is plenty to see and keep you as busy as you wish whilst staying in this area, including a visit to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon with the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, the historic university city of Oxford, Cheltenham, famous for its annual horse racing festival, Banbury and Cirencester. There are also many National Trust properties close by including Hidcote Gardens, Chastleton, Dovers Hill and Snowshill Manor and Gardens. There are many Cotswolds towns and villages worth visiting to experience Cotswold life and indulge at the country pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. Shop local at the many independent boutiques, farm shops and retail outlets including Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter, Blockley and Broadway. We really enjoyed our stay at Lavender Cottage. Very good for meeting up with friends and family, excellent for exploring the North Cotswolds. Comfortable, clean and warm. Good local amenities. Friendly and welcoming local pub. I would definitely stay here again.

A lovely holiday cottage that’s well equipped with everything you could need. The only slight draw back is the tight entrance getting into the drive way if you’ve a long car but there is plenty of street parking nearby. It’s a great location for getting out to see places and the Plough Inn is friendly, warm and welcoming with lovely food.

Lovely cottage warm comfortable and very well equipped. Although the driveway entrance is quite tight it can be negotiated with care. Great location for all areas of the Cotswolds Bibury was an amazing place stacked in history. There’s no shop in the village but the pub is great nice local beer and a great roaring fire.
