Jiji-Baba house

The property was in a very peaceful neighbourhood, quiet and calming.

-The host couple were very welcoming and friendly. They were always very helpful and made my stay feel amazing. -The house is possibly one of the most uniquely decorated house in Japan, full of retro memorabilia from cars, comics and movies. The house is an old style Japanese house, so it is a good experience in itself. -The area around is very peaceful -good Wi-Fi speed, I worked remotely there with no issues. There is also aircon in the room, and on clear days you can also see Mt. Fuji. -there are supermarkets close to the station with a big variety of delicious cheap food that you can eat in

These were things I dealt with no issue, but will mention for future guests : -the walls are thin, so you can hear other people talking. If you are planning on work remotely this might present an issue. I was aware of this beforehand and brought noise protection headset, so I had no issue with this. The other guests were generally quiet so that also helped. -I did this every day with no issue, but the train station might be a bit far for some people, 25 minutes walking. There is a bus stop relatively close to the house that gets you to the station for 100yen plus the owner also lets you borrow a bicycle if you prefer. -there isn't much to do around the area, it feels a bit countryside, and some might consider it a bit far from central Tokyo. But you have Omiya Kasukabe and Kawagoe closer. Japan isn't just Tokyo, so why not get a feel for a bit of a more countryside place when you get tired of big cities?

Très bien dormi dans le futon sous 4 couvertures bien au chaud. La climatisation inversible suffit à gérer la température de la chambre. Hiro-san est très accessible (je n'ai pas beaucoup pu voir sa femme puisqu'elle était malade). Il est possible de traîner un peu avec les autres hôtes dans la maison. Il y a le nécessaire fourni (serviettes etc...) Il y a une machine à laver et sécher le linge et un cuiseur à riz.

Il n'y a pas d'isolation donc on est obligé de chauffer à fond et de bien se couvrir. Les toilettes et cuisine n'étaient pas dans un état de propreté optimale. Il fait froid en décembre. Pour aller à Tokyo, le trajet aller-retour est plutôt cher, puisqu'on se trouve dans la préfecture de Chiba.
