Lovely place for a relaxing short trip to the coast.
Modern, comfortable, well maintained and very clean. Very convenient. Host was very helpful. Lovely views across fields from balcony. Pretty garden & sitting out area.
Limited storage space especially in kitchen. Shower room basin is very small. On a busy road which was noisy (hot weather so windows open) and difficult to pull out onto.

Small upside down cottage well located for West Mersea
Splendidly clean cottage, and well equipped for self-catering. Nice outdoor areas (unfortunately it was too chilly for us to really enjoy the garden and terrace in April, but I'm sure they would be great in the summer). Also, host was understanding when we were a little late leaving!
Advance communications were poor - nothing until the day before arrival, despite two emails, two phone calls and a text from us. This may seem like a small thing, but it is unsettling when we were trying to check arrangements, two granddkids travelling with us quite a distance, so we needed to avoid any surprises - and were not getting any reply at all. Main problem: the landline number provided by booking.com did not link direct to the host as claimed, instead it linked to a holiday cottage lettings agent. Everyone tried hard to help and we got a mobile number for the host - but a message and a text left on that did not produce any immediate response. Eventually after calls to both booking.com and the lettings agent customer services the following day, we did finally get a text reply the evening before leaving. I don't think the host was generally unhelpful, and the cottage was very nicely prepared - but advance communications do need to be better to get a top rating.
