Argyle Grand Hotel Nairobi Airport

Every member of the staff which we’ve encountered was delightfully, professional, and welcoming.

We really wish that there had been a dining facility that was a bit smaller or more intimate.

The reception staff are very welcoming. My Greek salad for dinner in the bar was well-presented and delicious. My room was perfect, the shower amazing - and the wonderful bed, pillows and duvet the best I’ve ever had. I slept like a baby for hours. The hotel is beautifully presented overall.

The service in the bar area was slow - some staff didn’t seem to know what to do. The atmosphere at the bar was offputting - men drinking hard liqueur, sitting on stools along the whole length, so you couldn’t get near it. I could hear the thumping beat of music from the bar until 2am. My suitcases would have been left behind in the morning, if I hadn’t prompted the porter, then accompanied him to find them and bring them to the shuttle. Chaotic.

We stayed at this hotel on 3 differnet occasions within a 2 week period. The reason is because it is very close to the Jomo kenyatta International airport and the The Nairobi SGR Terminus for those who are taking a train from Nairobi to Mombasa and vice versa. They provide complementary shuttle service which was amazing. The staff is woderful, the place is very safe and secure, the rooms are modern and the breakfast buffet and the room service is great as well. Overall amazing service and we enjoyed our time here.

Everything was great and the hotel served our purposes which was to be close to the airport and the SGR terminus. If you are staying here hoping to explore the Nairobi city I would say it is probably not in the best location for that as it is far and it would take way too long to get to tourist attractions because of traffic.

The hotel is close to JKIA. Easy to reach from the Expressway. Staff are friendly, albeit a little slow with service.

Individuals not smoking in the correct areas which in turn ruins the experience for other customers. Staff at reception not efficient at their roles. I paid on arrival, but was still asked to pay on departure, i had to prove that i had already paid - this is very inefficient. Functions in the hotel which cause excessive noise and disturbance to other guests, especially when we have early flights to meet/check-in for in the morning.
